IT is in honor of all those who served and died in ALL wars — WWI, WWII, etc. — right up to the current ones. And it is amazing in London — even the taxis have poppies on their bonnets! As an American, I am ashamed that we don’t all wear poppies or something to honor and remember those that we have sent off to war… It’s been 93 years since the end of WWI, and in Europe, but especially here in the UK, they still remember… This Sunday is Remembrance Sunday, and all the churches will be having requiem masses.
In the US, we have Veterans Day and Memorial Day — and what do we do? Big sales and picnics. We shop and eat. Do we remember or honor?
