  1. So I’m guessing they cut a deal. It will be interesting to see what it is.

  2. But, but, but, this is the most important election in the history of everythingevar.
By not standing up to the Blah Islamofascist Thug in the White House, he’s JUST LIKE NEVILLE CHAMBERLAIN.

  3. I wonder if this happened now because his pollsters knew he was going to get the crap kicked out of him in his home state. This way, he’s got a ready-made excuse for failing on his own doorstep.
Or, it’s possible that his wife, with a kid in the hospital, just put her foot down and said enough’s enough.
Either way, it’s a big loss for stand-up comics everywhere, because Frothy is a sure-fire font of material and has always been ready-made for ridicule. The only way he could have made it more obvious would have been to campaign in a clown suit.

  4. He was already too far behind. Then his daughter being in the hospital – I could definitely see him wanting to devote his energies to his family (with family supposedly being a key interest to the “right”).
That in mind, I can’t imagine the venom that has led to the comments from the far right on this. He can ask his delegates to go Gingrich or he can cut them free. Either way probably doesn’t do a lot to change Romney’s chances of getting enough delegates to tie things up on the first vote.

  5. The daughter was rushed to the hospital about 6 weeks ago, too. He didn’t suspend his campaign then. I’m going with the “about to lose his home state” theory.
Also, he probably was running out of money. Foster Friess is no Sheldon Adelson.
