KMac’s Latest Humiliation

The featured image features the hapless KMac and Fred Gillett, the last speaker wannabe to not win on the first ballot 100 years ago. His challenge was from the left. Yes, Virginia, there used to be a Republican left; mostly old Bull Moosers. Charlie Pierce has more about Fred Gillett.

Gym Jordan nominated KMac on the second ballot without asking the 6 who voted for him on the first ballot to switch to KMac. With friends like that, who needs enemies? I should have known that he was up to something when he wore a jacket on the floor.

Matt Gaetz nominated Jordan on the second ballot. He held all 19 anti-KMac votes.

A third ballot is imminent. Will there be any changes? Beats the hell outta me.

The talking heads on MSNBC are idiots. They keep spinning ridiculous stories of how KMac will survive, Yadda, yadda, yadda. I’m not sure who it was but someone said the Dems might tire of this. Why would they? It’s fun to watch that weasel KMac squirm.

Absent serious gains on a third ballot, KMac is toast. Burnt toast at that. I’m waiting for Scalise to make his move.

This is the moral equivalent of live blogging. I’ll update this post after the third ballot.

Stay tuned.

4:28 CST Update: KMac lost a vote on the third ballot and the House has adjourned. Cassandra will pick up the narrative tomorrow.

  1. Kevin is now 0-3 at the plate. Do they bring in a substitute for his next at bat?

  2. does Scalise have 218 votes? or will threshold move to having a plurality?

    1. His play is to stay loyal until KMac is out or wins. Beyond that, who knows?
