Album Cover Art: Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap

I’m returning this well-traveled feature to its original time slot in the wee hours of Wednesday morning. Why? Because I can, that’s why. It will continue to pop up when least expected. I decided to post it now to lighten things up. There’s a lot of misplaced social media agita over the Dominion-Fox settlement. Casandra offered to write about it so I don’t have to. Stay tuned.

I’m not much of an AC/DC fan but I respect their longevity and I love the title of this  album. It’s a title for our time as well as its 1976 release date.

Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap makes me think of former Trump fixer Michael Cohen who talks about the “dirty deeds” he did for the Indicted Impeached Insult Comedian. Those dirty deeds did not come cheap: Cohen paid a high price for them. He was disbarred and went to prison for doing Donald’s dirty deeds. Indeedy-doo.

The cover of Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap was designed and executed by Hipgnosis who became famous for their work with Pink Floyd. Everything they do has a touch of surrealism and humor. This cover is hilarious in all caps even if I choose not to type it that way.

Ready to hang out at a cheap-n-cheesy motel? Good. You have no choice.

The back cover is just as seamy but less crowded.

This is not the original cover for the album in the band’s native Australia. This is:

Apologies for the price tag. This is one of the few pictures of the original tattoo forward cover online. Oh well, what the hell.

Here’s the title track:
