I am tired, y’all. I’m 8 years older than I was at the beginning of the last TFG circus, and I am actually a little bit smarter, and that is because this time I know that this time, for real, nothing matters. It doesn’t matter that Matt Gaetz is a pedophile or that other congressmen have been forced to resign for similar behavior with adult women. Nothing matters.

Matt Gaetz is alleged to have trafficked underage girls? TFG is an adjudicated rapist who was accused of rape under oath by his first wife, and who appears to have raped Stormy Daniels per her sworn testimony. But the girls were underage? So were some of TFG’s alleged victims.

The press is all atwitter that Rand Paul said he can’t vote to confirm Gaetz. So what? All of these fuckers decided to leave the door open for another TFG run back in 2021 when they refused to take the insurrection impeachment charges seriously and when they refused to make it so he could never hold office again.

Remember how all of them were just AGHAST at the insurrection? Remember how upset they were at this breach of democracy? And then they all got in line to lick TFG’s boots anyway once campaign season got underway. Remember that? Pepperidge Farm remembers.

And even if every GOP senator found his or her backbone, it wouldn’t matter because the toadiest Trumpy Trump Toad has already been installed in the House—Mike Johnson. Or John Mikeson? Does it even matter? He’s a weirdo and a creep who makes your skin crawl when you see him. He’s another Republican nutjob with an unofficially adopted “son” (I think the rest of the world calls it human trafficking), but hey, Gaetz has one too. It’s a club for weirdoes with gross sexual fetishes that involve underage victims, and people seriously think that TFG isn’t going to recess appoint Gaetz? When he already has a weirdly unanimously-reelected Johnson in line to make it all happen for him?

Oh, so you say if the House Ethics Committee’s report on Gaetz is released and it has proof he had sex with an underage girl then that will be a game changer because of the public outcry? Really? Because the outrage of decent people is already baked into TFG’s plan. And MAGAts will not care. All they care about is owning the libs and if they suffer as a by product of other actions by TFG administration, so be it.

I’m not contradicting or discounting what I posted yesterday, either. We are still compassionate people who want to help people and have positive sources of joy in our lives. I just don’t think it makes sense to hope that the MAGAts are going to change any time soon. And I fervently hope I am wrong.
