I didn’t watch the Super Bowl. It wasn’t to protest Trump’s presence it was out of indifference. I used to watch a fair amount of sports, but I only watch Saints games and the odd basketball game. I should protest the state of our two Benson owned franchises: the Saints and Pelicans. The Saint were bad and the Pelicans are atrocious. It’s what happens when you build your team around a player who is always injured. Come on down, Zion Williamson.
In personal news, I shaved off my protest beard. My skin was protesting its presence by getting all itchy and shit. I’m glad I wasn’t around in 19th Century America where men were mostly beardos. That’s why Lincoln grew his scraggly beard, to fit in. I’ve never cared about fitting in, but I’ve never run for national office. I’m obviously no Lincoln, not even a Ford…
We continue with a Super Bowl adjacent story. Roger Goodell recently defended the Saints role in the Archdiocese of New Orleans’ clergy abuse scandals. Team executives stand accused of helping cover up the church’s machinations to dodge paying the victims of pedophile priests. I’ve met the current Archbishop Gregory Aymond and liked him as much as an atheist can like a cleric. I used to think he was a decent man dragged down by a rotten system. I no longer do.
Given the post title, you’re probably wondering where the Chancellor Musk content is. This is it:
Please forgive that Yacht Rock explosion. It’s not completely irrelevant: CBS used This Is It as the theme song of its March Madness coverage from 1980 to 1981. Holy sports related digression, Batman.
I have a name for what the Musketeers are doing to the federal government, the Dispshit Disruption. Like the Dipshit Insurrection before it, it’s a mindless race to disrupt and ultimately destroy the government. None of it is legal, all of it is stupid. The MAGA stupidity, it burns.
There are unintended consequences that should have interest groups howling for Musk’s head. USAID bought millions of dollars of American food products to send abroad. That spigot has been turned off by Musk’s minions. Why aren’t farmers demanding his ouster? I realize that most of them vote Republican, but Chancellor Musk is taking money out of their pockets.
As Bob Dole said in 1996, “Where’s the outrage?”
I have an addendum, “Where are the farmers?”
The Dipshit Disruption is as illegal as the Dipshit Insurrection before it. Agencies like USAID and the Department of Education were established by Congress. If they want to abolish them, they can ask Congress to do so; otherwise, it’s illegal. The GOP won the trifecta but all they’re doing with it is toadying to Trump and posturing for the cameras.
House GOPers still cannot get their shit together to pass anything major without Democratic support. That makes it difficult to abolish agencies legally. The same thing happened when Team Trump tried to vet pardons. It was too fucking hard, so the Insult Comedian said, “Fuck it. Release ’em all.”
Trump’s laziness led to the pardon of a creep who has subsequently been arrested on child sex charges. The MAGA stupidity, it burns.
In other crazy pants news, the Kaiser of Chaos has granted refugee status to South African apartheid dead enders. They can now bring their racist and white supremacist selves to America. I am not making this up.
I detect the hand of Chancellor Musk in this mess. These are his people. The MAGA stupidity, it burns.
The Kaiser wears the crown, but the Chancellor is running the show. They’re like the world’s worst boy band. Do they plan to play Sun City?
If that comment was obscure to you, click here. It was a thing in the 1980’s.
I believe that the Kaiser is letting the Chancellor run amuck because he only ran again to squelch his legal troubles and get revenge against his investigators. It’s no mystery that he only cares about himself. Chancellor Musk is the one who wants to turn our country into a libertarian hell hole. Musk paid the freight for the end of the Trump campaign. That’s why Trump gave him the hammer. Stupid motherfucker.
Repeat after me: The MAGA stupidity, it burns.
That’s the mess we’re in. So is this. The last word goes to Los Lobos:

The main problem with the stupidity is that it doesn’t burn, at least it doesn’t appear to burn its practitioner.
My observation about the felon’s copious executive orders. When President Biden used them, it was because he’d tried to strike a deal with Congress, and the Republican response was a flat “no.” Biden was making a bona fide effort, but the Republicans trafficked heavily in bad faith negotiations, then had their peanut gallery presstitutes back them to claim that it was President Biden and the Democrats who were the real obstructionists.
Fast forward to January, and the felon has cranked out dozens of executive orders without so much as a “by your leave” to a supine Congress dominated by his cronies. How is it covered in the political press? Not a peep about working with Congress or consulting with others, just adulation of the take charge president, no matter how illegal or unconstitutional his orders are.
Why haven’t his supporters turned on the felon? I’d like to think it’s because they haven’t quite felt the effects of his reckless orders, but I suspect it’s because he can do not wrong in their eyes, like over-indulgent parents as portrayed by Stan Freberg:
