I am so sick of everyone associated with the President Grievance administration. Every single one of them is cut from the same profile: a stupid, preening, avid boot licker.
I have a special animus for Pete Hegseth because he abuses women. And it’s not just that he abuses women, it’s that he’s so fucking cringe. He spends his entire public existence pretending he’s an infomercial host, and Tuesday was no exception.
He spent the time for his speech walking around the stage, like a deranged sexual predator talk show host. It was undignified and jarring. I’m no RAH RAH USA person, but the people he gathered in that room have made for the most part made great sacrifices to get where they are, and he treated them like a paid audience at an informercial taping.
Since Hegseth abuses women, naturally one of the first thing he said was “no girls allowed”. The message was sent loud and clear—it’s a boy’s club now. And in case any woman thought about staying, he announced that if a service woman was the victim of rape or sexual assault the military’s new official position is based on what she was wearing (her uniform), she was asking for it.
No sad sack white man tantrum is complete without going after people of color, and so Hegseth announced that no one could wear facial hair anymore.

The only way to medically fix the issue is? A beard. So Black men have been told they’re not wanted.
And it wasn’t just the racism and the sexism. A lot of it was a complete misunderstanding of what courage is. This is not courage:
Hegseth: "We unleash overwhelming and punishing violence on the enemy. We also don't fight with stupid rules of engagement. We untie the hands of our warfighters to intimidate, demoralize, hunt, and kill the enemies of our country. No more politically correct and overbearing rules of engagement."
Those are war crimes. That is killing civilians. That is starving children. That is torturing random people. That is murder.
And then there was this:
Hegseth: "It all starts with physical fitness and appearance. If the secretary of war can do regular hard PT, so can every member of our joint force. Frankly, it's tiring to look out at combat formations and see fat troops. Likewise, it's completely unacceptable to see fat generals and admirals."
I don’t make fun of people’s appearances, but since President Grievance does, he’s fair game. And the Dotard-in-Chief is fat. And out of shape. And possibly hiding some kind of physical disability.
And Hegseth himself can barely fit in his clothes. Every piece of clothing is bursting at the seams. He looks as if he is channeling The Incredible Hulk wherever he goes. Look at the sleeves of his suit jacket and where his shirt cuffs are. He looks like he got flabby and now his clothes don’t fit.
Sometimes he wears a normal shirt but then he wears a jacket that is clearly too small for him:

And this issue just so clearly illustrates what a fucking hypocrite he is:
"no more superficial individual expression"

And then there’s bullshit meant to show he’s “one of them”:
Hegseth: "I don't want me son serving alongside troops who are out of shape or in combat units with females who can't meet the same combat arms physical standards as men"
There is zero chance that he is going to let his son serve. Zero.
And that’s mostly because these stupid prancing edicts aren’t going to last. Some of them might squeak through and be bulldozed away by subsequent administrations. Lots of them are going to end up in the courts and will be overturned. The Constitution and its protections didn’t disappear because Major Douchebag sashayed across the stage spewing nonsense.
These people are some of the most ridiculous people I have ever seen take and I cannot believe how seriously they takes themselves in public. I referenced the Lewis Carroll’s Alice stories a few weeks ago, and lately I find myself quoting them every day in real life. After I saw Hegseth’s performance today I was reminded of how Alice escaped from the clutches of the Queen of Heart by seeing the guards advancing on her for what they were: playing cards–thin and flimsy and loudly decorated, but without the slightest bit of substance, nuance, or intelligence.
I’ll leave you with this:

Yeah, I thought the “We’re going to commit wholesale war crimes” dicta would get a little more attention from the political press, but I was wrong. I know I’m in dreamland waiting for a Republican to denounce that, but could we get more Democratic voices raised in opposition to Secretary Shave Tail’s endorsement of crimes against humanity? If the media don’t want to cover it, say it again. And again. This is not a hard point to make; you simply quote this lunatic verbatim.
