The Billion Dollar Morons

The last 1o years or so have been an absolute, Hindenburg-catching-fire-level tragedy for anyone who argues that great intelligence is necessary for great wealth.

The latest slice of bad news for the billionaire worshipers came via, where else, Elon’s Hellsite, aka TwitterX. You might have heard that another moronic billionaire has decided he was going to start himself a war with Iran, perhaps so he can end it and declare he stopped yet another war, making this the 2,194th war our Great President has prevented.

Trump and his minions are dumb enough to believe life is a Chuck Norris movie where Chuck blows up the baddies real good, and that’s that, roll credits. As we learned in Iraq, real-life war doesn’t really work like that, so now we have a situation where once again, Republicans are starting a war in the region and not really thinking through the aftermath. Iran is attacking ships in the Strait of Hormuz and is not really showing signs of letting up, despite Trump’s declarations that the war is mostly over. This, of course, has the oil market in turmoil, because it would be extremely difficult and time-consuming to escort every tanker through the strait. Oil prices are rising and fears of a global recession are growing.

Enter the latest dipshit billionaire to demonstrate to the rest of the world that rich guys aren’t always the brightest bulb on the tree, billionaire industrialist Harsh Goenka. Harsh offered up the kind of bright idea that only a clueless billionaire can offer up:

2.5 million views

This indeed got millions of views, and a lot of support. However, this is incredibly idiotic because, well, you would think that an industrialist would consider a pesky little thing called logistics. What an oil tanker holds depends on the type, but in any event, they hold a tremendous amount of oil. To move the oil around the Strait of Hormuz by land would require thousands of trucks running constantly, and be a lot of targets for Iranian drones.

In other words, this is a stupid idea. I mean, as we saw in the Epstein files, a lot of wealthy people (including Donald Trump) thought Jeffrey Epstein was a brilliant man, and his emails read like a four-year-old with a head injury wrote them. So they ain’t exactly geniuses. But this is pretty bad.

While Harsh got a lot of support from the chuds on TwitterX, the folks on Bluesky yesterday had a ton of fun with it. There were so many “Can this be a solution?” memes. Here are several examples:

At least some fun was had. What else can you do, really, but laugh at how dumb these guys are?

But sadly, for people who want to insist that billionaires get that way by being smart, this was another bad day for their theory.

The last word goes to XTC.
