A Major Award

On Wednesday President Grievance was rambling on about how he received a gift from the Iranian government:

“They’re gonna make a deal,” Trump told reporters at the White House as he swore in Markwayne Mullin as the new head of the Department of Homeland Security. “They did something yesterday that was amazing, actually. They gave us a present and the present arrived today. It was a very big present, worth a tremendous amount of money. I’m not going to tell you what that present is, but it was a very significant prize, and they gave it to us.”

Would you say that it was a major award?

Here’s the video:

It’s stupid when you read it, but it’s even worse when you watch it. We are being governed (and I use that term loosely) but the stupidest people alive. It’s as if he’s falling asleep while trying to have a conversation and repeating the same words over and over.

It’s clear that the war in Iran is not going well and that he’s frustrated that the Iranian government is treating him like a not-particularly-cute toddler in the middle of a tantrum. Then there was this news:

This only made him more frantic to interfere in the midterms, so he decreed that any attempts to end the partial government shut down—even just reopening TSA—had to include passage of the SAVE Act, which also had to include some weird transphobic bullshit he added to it.

Then this story broke:

President Donald Trump showed a classified map he retained from his first term in office to passengers on a 2022 private plane flight and retained another record so sensitive that only six high-ranking government officials had access to it, according to a prosecution memo released to Congress this week.

The Justice Department shared those findings, detailed in a January 2023 briefing document written by then-special counsel Jack Smith’s team, with lawmakers as they conduct a review of Smith’s now-abandoned efforts to prosecute Trump.

The memo, which was obtained by The Washington Post, was penned as investigators moved toward indicting Trump on charges of illegally retaining sensitive government material after he left the White House. It offers a snapshot of an early moment in Smith’s investigation and adds new shading to the public understanding of Smith’s probes, even as a final report on his findings remains under court seal.

The memo, for instance, reveals that Smith’s team gathered at least some evidence to suggest that Trump had retained classified material pertinent to his personal business interests and that prosecutors were investigating whether his decision to hold on to those records was motivated by financial gain.

Remember when the GOP and the complicit press told us that Jack Smith didn’t have any proof of Trump’s motivation for stealing the documents?

The documents memo was just another reminder for the president of what fresh hell is going to unleashed on him should the Dems take at least the House in November. Clearly GOP leadership had to address Trump’s closed door meltdowns with a plan to defend him and their tenuous Congressional majority. And so they acted decisively:

I’ll leave you with this:
