There’s a newRasmussen poll out on the Florida Senate race that has Sen. Bill Nelson beating Harris 54% to 37%. And as far as favorability goes…

Fifty-five percent (55%) of voters view Nelson favorably-25% view him very favorably. Harris’ numbers are weighted at the other end of the spectrum: 53% have an unfavorable view of her including 39% in the “very unfavorable” category.

Nelson maintains another distinct advantage over Harris: fundraising. The most recent financial disclosure statements show Nelson’s campaign sitting on approximately $12 million as the campaign enters crunch time. Harris’ campaign has just $2.2 million on hand.

Speaking of campaign funds, our Kathy got a wad of cash from her neighborMark Foley back in the day.

Rep. Katherine Harris, R-Longboat Key, who faces Sen. Bill Nelson, D-Orlando, in the Nov. 7 election, received $2,000 from Foley in 2001.

Will she give the money back or donate it to charity? Hell, she still hasn’t decided what she will do withBob Ney’s filthy lucre.

Harris, a Sarasota Republican running against Democratic incumbent Bill Nelson, got $6,000 from U.S. Rep. Bob Ney’s political action committee, American Liberty PAC, when she ran for Congress in 2002 and 2004.

  1. Looks like Nelson will win. Too bad he is one of thos Dems who see their job in the Senate as trying to see how close to the Republicans you can get without changing your party. Well, since Harris is one of the worst of the worst it is still a good thing. Is it just me or does Florida have some of the most screwed up politicians around?
