Disgusting

America’s Pac is running “race ads” in more than 2 dozen Congressional districts. Here are samples…

“Black babies are terminated at triple the rate of white babies,” a female announcer in one of the ads says, as rain, thunder, and a crying infant are heard in the background. “The Democratic Party supports these abortion laws that are decimating our people, but the individual’s right to life is protected in the Republican platform. Democrats say they want our vote. Why don’t they want our lives?”

Another ad features a dialogue between two men.

“If you make a little mistake with one of your ‘hos,’ you’ll want to dispose of that problem tout suite, no questions asked,” one of the men says.

“That’s too cold. I don’t snuff my own seed,” the other replies.

“Maybe you do have a reason to vote Republican,” the first man says.

Another spot attempts to link Democrats to a white supremacist who served as a Republican in the Louisiana Legislature, David Duke. The ad makes reference to Duke’s trip to Syria last year, where he spoke at an anti-war rally.

“I can understand why a Ku Klux Klan cracker like David Duke makes nice with the terrorists,”a male voice in the ad says. “What I want to know is why so many of the Democrat politicians I helped elect are on the same side of the Iraq war as David Duke.”

Reaction…

In one of the communities where the ads are running, South Bend, Ind.,some blacks were outraged. “They’re awful. They’re repulsive,” a Democratic activist and community leader in South Bend, Gladys Muhammad, said. “When they say Democrats don’t like black babies, that’s damn fools. They’re very insensitive.”

“This is so dirty, but it works,” a sociology professor at Indiana University, Johnnie Griffin, said. “These are race ads. It’s incredible.”

SNIP

Ms. Griffin said a community meeting is planned for Friday to discuss the ad campaign.

  1. A little mistake with one of your ‘hos?
This reads like a parody, like something off the Chappelle Show.
    Wow.
    A.

  2. I had the same reaction as Athenae. It’s unbelievable to me (I know, naive)
that such an ad would be vetted and approved.
    un -fricking-believable
They will literally do anything to win won’t they?

  3. “But it works.”
    Yeah. Right.
Depends on your definition of “works”, and your expected outcome.
If this is all they have left in them, they are already beaten.

  4. Works, how, exactly? I’m white. I’m over 45. I’m male. I make more than a decent living, so does my wife. Demographics say I should be voting Republican. My father, in his 70s, should be voting Republican (he voted for Nixon twice, I think). This kind of advertising says that the Republicans have no platform, no principles, no taste, and no shame. Why on earth would I want to be associated with these guys? They’re going to bribe me with a tax cut, for this? How many decades do they want me to vote straight-ticket Democratic?
It’s worth noting that the Democrats believe women should have a choice, but it’s Republican social and economic policies that make them choose abortion.

  5. It’s truly uncanny. Every single time I think that they could not possibly stoop any lower, they find a way to do just that!

  6. It’s worth noting that the Democrats believe women should have a choice, but it’s Republican social and economic policies that make them choose abortion.
ah-ha! very nice point! is it ok if i steal that from you? 🙂

  7. Oh, this is such a twisting of the truth. I live in Louisiana – the state that elected David Duke to the state legislature as a REPUBLICAN, ran him for governor as a REPUBLICAN (causing all of us to hold our nose and vote for Edwin Edwards), and also ran Duke for US Senate as a REPUBLICAN. David Duke has a great big “R” beside his name and he always has. He is the type of person the REPUBLICAN Party produces.

  8. Ditto to A.’s comment. And how the hell is this allowed? Seriously. Unfuckingbelievable. I’m not black, but if I was, I’d be 100 times more insulted than I already am. This needs to get out everywhere so the rest of America (not just the poor minority population, much like the one they abandoned in NOLA, that they’re targeting with these disgraceful ads) can see what the Republican party is really about. Jerkoffs. It does speak to how screwed the party really is. Like squirm said, though, as frightening as it is, this might actually have an impact for the Repubs…unless we and the Dems make sure to turn it the other way. I’m posting the link to this everywhere I can.

  9. Reminds me of what that Bennett buy said about blacks and aborting them to reduce crime. Throw that one out there as a counter ad and see how fast the Rethuglicans start whining about race and unfairness. Fucking assholes.
One of my daughter’s pals, a black teenager headed to a big name college back east, was PISSED as hell after seeing these ads. She said, if the economic status of blacks were better, they wouldn’t need to abort a child. If black females were taught about contraception instead of abstinence, they’d use birth control or at least try to convince their partners to use a condom. And what the hell is the ad doing talking to MEN about this issue. WTF do they have to do with it, except to spurt and run? (Her words, not mine). And the war thing, she said she knew more of her black pals going off to fight in Iraq than any white kids. The black kids were romanced by the bonuses and college cash, the white kids not so much.
Oh man I have never seen her so angry. If they are trying to win the black female vote, they just lost a whole ton of them with that ad. Sheesh.

    “One of your ‘hos?”
So, what, twopimps are talking about voting Republican so they can outlaw abortion? WTF? (And isn’t that a strong endorsement–Vote Republican like the pimps do! I can see every black voter lining up in the R column now!)
Or are they saying that all black men have multiple sex partners they refer to as ‘hos’? Again, WTF?
And the first guy is telling the second guy “if you don’t want to get an abortion yourself, you need to vote Republican because they will outlaw abortion and prevent you from getting an abortion that you didn’t want in the first place” or something? WTF?
And, of course, neither of these guys seem to consider “their hos” anything remotely like–oh, what’s the word–“people”. That’s a really telling glimpse into the anti-choice mindset: Vote repoublican so you can prevent your ‘hos’ from “snuffing your seed”!

  11. Well, actually, I’m trying to say that, if their game really is this weak, they got nothin.
I sure hope they put more money into this campaign. Pure *genius*.

  12. Sorry – I didn’t mean to misconstrue your comment. I do think, however, that it might actually work to some extent – and that’s scary. A professor in the Sun article said one of her students talked about switching parties (to the Repubs) after seeing the ad(s). I don’t suspect it will have the wide reaching effect they need. In fact, I think it will piss more people off than anything, as it should. And I do agree that it’s desperate and pathetic. So I’m glad we got that cleared up. I’ll try to stay on the same page from now on, I promise. 😉

  13. so…what it sounds like you’re saying is that perhaps the Repubs’ message to Blacks is a little off target? shocking, since they’re so “down” with Black issues. yeah.
and good for your daughter’s friend for being angry and able to articulate it so well, connecting issues and talking about socioeconomic status as systemic. is she gonna be a sociology major? perhaps she should be. (Soc grad here…guilty.) 😉

  14. But–but–sputter–these ads CAN’T be racist, because they’re aimed to ATTRACT BLACK VOTERS!!!
What would you expect from folks who think that African-Americans should be grateful to the white slavers who gave their ancestors the opportunity to come to America, or believe that getting to stay in an overcrowded Superdome after losing their homes in a flood is “working out well for them”?

  15. So, what, two pimps are talking about voting Republican so they can outlaw abortion?
That would actually be a hysterically funny ad. I would pay cash money to see how that’d play with their white “values voters.”

  16. You certainly may. It’s possible I even thought of it myself, but I wouldn’t bet a ton of money that.

  17. Thanks for the link. (Or rather, it makes me puke – I’m sure you’ll understand).
The ads on their list are even worse than the ones mentioned on first-draft.

  18. I don’t think they’re going after black voters with these ads, just trying to turn out their base, the racist and the ignorant.
    Duckman GR
P.S. – Forgot to send my $50 for the fund drive last night as promised.
Will send $55 for lying about it tonight. See, taking responsibility for my actions, or lack thereof!

  19. They really are.
I think the worst (and it’s hard to pick just one) is the one that claims it was the Democrats who confused the voters in the Florida election. Because it was a Democrat who designed those butterfly ballots.

  20. America’s PAC would bring a tear of whimsy to Uncle Tom’s eye.
Black Republicans run a close second to homosexual Republicans in the “Most Self-Loathing Americans” category.
