Chimpy hits a new low in New Jersey:
President Bush’s approval rating has reached a new low in New Jersey, with only 28 percent of Garden State voters approving of his job performance, according to a new poll released Wednesday.
The Fairleigh Dickinson University PublicMind poll found Bush’s approval rating has slipped 5 percentage points since March.
“At this point, the president’s confrontation with the Democratic majority in Congress over a timetable to withdraw from Iraq has not worked in his favor,” said Peter J. Woolley, a political scientist who directs the poll.
The poll found 65 percent disapprove of Bush’s performance, with 7 percent having mixed feelings.
