Ohio Election Officials Rigged Recount In 2004

I should think this would be a big story. Silly me.

Two election workers were convicted Wednesday of rigging a recount of the 2004 presidential election to avoid a more thorough review in Ohio’s most populous county.

Jacqueline Maiden, elections coordinator of the Cuyahoga County Elections Board, and ballot manager Kathleen Dreamer each were convicted of a felony count of negligent misconduct of an elections employee. They also were convicted of one misdemeanor count each of failure of elections employees to perform their duty.

Prosecutors accused Maiden and Dreamer of secretly reviewing preselected ballots before a public recount on Dec. 16, 2004. They worked behind closed doors for three days to pick ballots they knew would not cause discrepancies when checked by hand, prosecutors said.

I’m not sure what the hold-up is… maybe they have re-thought their stance on how this is going to actually make the company any money. Or perhaps their lawyers pointed out the liability of providing agents a platform to stick their feet in their mouth. Whatever it is, it’s hardly something I’d claim as being “Well done”.

Ohioans have already replaced SecState Blackwell, but there were affidavits from election officials about how Triad Systems went around the state handing out FAKE ‘recount’ numbers to be reported (felonies in every case), and swapping out circuit boards (felonies in every case).
We paid $125,000 for that ‘recount’ — and then Blackwell refused to do it, even when threatened by the court.
However, so that you aren’t completely without vote-hope, check this out:

Not that it really matters – it’s almost 18 months after the fact; it won’t change the election itself; others will now learn what to avoid to determine the same-type election ‘results’.
It’s like the old Dailey Machine – until most of them are on the run/jailed/deceased it won’t stop.

Wow! Hadn’t heard a word about it.
May I assume that the two convicted felons were liberal democrats studying at Muslim colleges as reported on Fox?
