All right – everyone get suited up – this week’s sample of stupid is so corrosive that you’re going to need the neodymium tongs to handle it.
Let’s start with the predictable reponse to the news that Toby Keith is going to be voting for Obama.
In a word,
To: peggybacShut up and sing!
How original. They weren’t telling him that when he was singing “Courtesy of the Red, White, & Blue” now, were they?
To: SnurpleI will send this to him and see what he says. I’m expecting a real response. He loves America I know. The fact that the source is NH is ridiculous.Sen. Barack Obama is getting praise from Nashville, courtesy of one big, patriotic country star.
That’s the one that got me started. Sorry for anything personal. :^)
To: antceeceeThis looks like a drive by media article… I don’t believe a word of it unless I hear it from TK himself.I’ve heard him interviewed in the last month or so and he said pretty much what the article does. He reasoning was vague, pretty much that he’s a democrat, therefore…
If you only want to be entertained by conservatives, you may as well just go buy yourself a harmonica.
Iraq demands ‘clear timeline’ for US withdrawal

BAGHDAD (AP) – Iraq’s foreign minister insisted Sunday that any security deal with the United States must contain a “very clear timeline” for the departure of U.S. troops. A suicide bomber struck north of Baghdad, killing at least five people including an American soldier.
Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari told reporters that American and Iraqi negotiators were “very close” to reaching a long-term security agreement that will set the rules for U.S. troops in Iraq after the U.N. mandate expires at the end of the year.
Zebari said the Iraqis were insisting that the agreement include a “very clear timeline” for the withdrawal of U.S.-led forces, but he refused to talk about specific dates.

D.C. bartenders favor Democrats as patrons By Michael O’Brien Posted: 08/22/08 10:22 AM [ET]
Partying Republicans in Washington will have to step it up after a recent survey of D.C.-area bartenders praised Democrats as being better tippers and talkers than their GOP counterparts.
The survey of 100 D.C.-area bartenders, conducted by Clarus Research Group for Beam Global Spirits & Wine, cast Democrats as more favorable bar patrons, as bartenders said they were better tippers, have better pick-up lines and were better at giving toasts.
Conversely, the bartenders said Republicans were more likely to order their drinks “straight-up” than Democrats, who were described as being more likely to order up “pink (girly) drinks” at the bar. Republicans, however, were slightly less likely to party later into the night, according to the survey.

To: Sub-DriverBusinessmen are the best tippers. Any bartender will tell you that. Teachers are the worst. Conservatives never forget to tip the bartender.

To: wideawakeIs Diane Feinstein a superdelegate or just a delegate?
She just broke her ankle and isn’t going to the convention now. She was a strong Hillary Clinton supporter.
I’m not trying to get all “conspiracy” or anything, but keep your eye on Ed Rendell of PA. He just announced he’s going to vote for Hillary.
Remember what Obama did in Chicago so he could run unopposed? Does Alice Palmer ring a bell?
I don’t trust Obama at all. He’s a dirty, dirty guy with creep, criminal friends. I wouldn’t be surpised at all if he’s working behind the scenes to threaten the Hillary-supporting delegates and superdelegates to not vote for her during the convention so it will truly be just a symbolic vote, like the Obama gang wants it to be.
To: traumerI have to say that the tone of Freepers is vastly different than DU, KOS, etc. Even though this woman stands against all we hold dear and true, only prayers and sympathies for her family are offered.
Freepers=CLASS and Compassion
I have to say the tone of Freepers is vastly different from, oh, say – human beings.
Let’s give them a chance to redeem themselves, shall we?
Judge not, and all that,,,
