Numbers guru Nate Silver is leaving the New York Times for ESPN/ABC News. It seems that young Silver wants to have a wider variety of potential platforms and subjects to expound upon. Good on him. The NYT’s public editor said that Nate didn’t fit into the “culture” of the Times. Nate mildly disagreed with this analysis but he doesn’t strike me as having a stick up his ass like your average Timesman. I suspect that the main reason MSM political reporters don’t like Silver is that he was right about the 2012 election and they were wrong.
