A Cheerios commercial has sparked controversy after a large group of people started posting racially charged messages about the new ad on YouTube.
The commercial features an interracial couple and their daughter, and was released by Cheerios on YouTube. However, a group of Internet “trolls” quickly began posting comments about the interracial nature of the ad, sparking such racially charged comments that YouTube eventually decided to close the comments section of the page to bring a halt to the discussion.
The 30 second commercial features a young girl talking about the nutritional value of Cheerios. She asks her mom whether Cheerios are good for your heart, to which the mother responds that they are.
The young girl then smiles and runs off with the box of Cheerios. The next shot is of the girl’s father waking up on the couch with a pile of Cheerios poured out over the left side of his chest where his heart is.
The commercial seems cute and innocent to most, but a number of Internet trolls quickly took over the discussion on the YouTube comments board referring to the interracial nature of the family, which featured a white mother and black father.
Some of the comments referred to “Nazis” and “racial genocide” and more than 600 dislikes were recorded for the video. Others commented that the concept of a happy mixed-race family made them “want to vomit.”
The racial slurs also spilled over onto the Cheerios Facebook page where some commenters stated that they found the commercial “disgusting.”
One commenter also posted a racial slur about the likelihood of black men staying with their family, stating: “More like single parent in the making. Black dad will dip out soon.”
On Reddit the comments continued, and some turned the debate into the likelihood of a black man being with a white woman, against a couple with a white man and a black woman.
In 2012, a Cheerios commercial was also targeted by racial slurs and comments. In that commercial released in June last year, two black siblings are shown at their family kitchen table, when the older brother steals the cereal from his younger brother, who is in a high chair.
One commenter on YouTube wrote: “Just goes to show you they start steeling [sic] at an early age!!! First Cheerio’s next bikes then cares lol just like in real life.”
What screen name did you comment under? I’m curious.
Was it “AmeriKKKan”, “mathdoktor99”, or “JCMateri”?

I think the bigger issue is that since Obama has been elected – and all opposition to him is called racist by the MSM – people feel more free, not less, to say whatever the hell they want no matter how non-PC it is – especially anonymously on the internet.

It’s the new “politically incorrect”.
I figure that the liberals would jump on such comments as having been written by conservatives. Even though YouTube isn’t known as a bastion of conservatism, liberals would say that only some conservative bigot would write such nonsense.
“No true conservative” logical fallacy in five…four…three…two…

I would chalk it up to trolls. I know of no true conservatives that would have even noticed anything racial about this commercial. I didn’t.

Unless of course, you’re a nigger or a wetback. Oops. Your screenname is “bwrnsuga”. GFY.
I just don’t believe in inter-racial marriage or dating.
Colour me (heh) suprised.
Only 10% of the world’s population is white and I don’t like to see it decreasing. In 1900 white were 25% of the worlds population because we invented and were developing modern medicine, were reducing mothers death at childbirth, developing sound public sanitation, reducing infant mortality. As knowledge of theses measures spread other populations increased making whites only 10% of the worlds people

Syria on Tuesday said the government would take the deal proposed by Russia to turn over its chemical weapons cache to international control, the nation’s foreign minister said.
“[Monday] we held a round of very fruitful negotiations with Russian Foreign Minister Serge[y] Lavrov and he put forward an initiative regarding chemical weapons. Already in the evening we accepted Russia’s initiative,” said Walid Muallem, the foreign minister, in a statement reported by Russian news and picked up by USA Today

How could the fasict pro-war-on-the-browns Democratic Reich ever accomplish such a thing???
Actually I believe this is the answer to prayers sent to God from millions of people around the world. It was not a coincidence that those words came out of Kerry’s mouth.God said he would put words in the mouth of people. (not that I think Kerry intended it) just God acting in his own mysterious way.

When Peter King is going to give you a sound bite, he lets you know ahead of time, so as not to insult your intelligence or, for that matter, waste your time if you’re not that interested in the details.
But please, stay for the footnotes.
Here is Mr. King, a Republican congressman who represents Long Island, speaking on Tuesday afternoon about Ted Cruz, the Republican senator from Texas, who is bringing the federal government to the brink of a shutdown because he wants to cut all the money for President Obama’s health care plan.
“My sound bite is to say he’s a fraud,” Mr. King said. “I start with that, and then I go on. It takes me two or three minutes to explain it.”
Jumping ahead to that third minute, Mr. King said precisely what he thought of the Cruz tactic: “It is just a form of governmental terrorism.

That would be because you’re an imbecile. Let me know if you need any more help remembering things.

Former Congressman Allen West is leaving his job at Pajamas Media after an altercation with a female staffer in which he allegedly called her a “Jewish American princess,” BuzzFeed learned on Thursday.
“In order to focus on political interests, Allen West will transition from his full-time role as director of programming for Next Generation.TV to a twice-a-month contributor of written commentary on PJMedia.com, effective October 1, 2013,” PJ Media financier Aubrey Chernick wrote to staff in an email from September 16. “I wanted our staff and consultants to have this information first. However, PJ Media is not announcing this publicly for several weeks, so please do not share this news with anyone outside of the company until you see our public announcement.”
In a message to staff, West wrote: “Shortly, I will be giving up my position as director of programming at Next Generation.TV to get back on the front lines to expand the message of constitutional conservatism across our country.”
Two sources familiar with what happened told BuzzFeed that West had gotten into an argument with a female employee and called her a “Jewish American princess” while telling her to “shut up.”
Reached by phone, West told BuzzFeed he was leaving his job voluntarily, though one source familiar with the situation told BuzzFeed he had been fired. He did not deny that an exchange with the employee had occurred, but said it hadn’t led to his leaving the company.
“No I didn’t get fired,” West said. “I’m leaving to pursue political aspirations. That’s it. There’ll be a statement that comes out and it’s effective in October.”
Asked specifically whether he referred to the employee as a “Jewish American princess,”West said simply, “There was an exchange, that’s all.”

Just hours after debuting online, the new marketplace for Obamacare has apparently crashed.
Consumers are supposed to use Healthcare.gov as an outlet to sign up for coverage, but just after selecting the state where we wanted to enroll, an error message popped up citing heavy traffic from too many visitors.
We tried to engage a customer service representative via the site’s Live Chat feature, but after 15 minutes of waiting and no response, we gave up.
We’re not too fussed. Kinks are bound to happen this early in the site’s roll out, and at least heavy traffic signals that consumers are eager to find out more about the new exchange.

Wow – how could a program this unpopular possibly bring in enough hits to crash the site?
Take it away, Freeperati!
To: Jane Long
They will claim it is the Tea Party doing this.
Next thing we’ll hear that it’s a crime to go to the obamacare website for any reason other than to sign up.

Keeping track of whether Obamacare is working or not is a distraction from the more fundamental fact that it is bad law, immoral, destructive of freedom, opposed to God.
Treating it as a question of functionality is a subtle way to accept the premise of its existence, as if to say, if it proves efficient, then it must be OK, a false conclusion.
