Portland literally “put a bird on it” at a Bernie Sanders rally in Oregon on Monday.

A bird landed on the Democratic presidential candidate’s podium during his speech, and the crowd went wild.

“That bird really is a dove asking us for world peace,” Sanders said.

The “put a bird on it” slogan was made famous by the sketch comedy show “Portlandia.”

******************

Liberals on Twitter are going NUTZ tonight, after a sparrow landed on the Podium while Bernie Sanders was speaking in Potland. They are seeing this as a sign from MOTHER EARTH that the Planet wants Bernie Sanders to be President. I kid you not.

Hey, it IS Portland…

If the bird had landed on Hillary’s podium, she’d have charged it $200,000 for the Meet-n-Greet.
I’m sorry – did I somehow stumble into a “Bernie Or Bust” site??

Rush Limbaugh’s blessing of Trump is killing conservatism
Washington Post ^ | 3/28/2016 | Michael Gerson

Posted on ‎3‎/‎29‎/‎2016‎ ‎12‎:‎24‎:‎42‎ ‎AM by GilGil

If Donald Trump becomes the Republican nominee, one of the main reasons will be that many in the conservative movement found him acceptable. And one of the main reasons that many conservatives are finding Trump acceptable is that the most influential political talk radio host in history, Rush Limbaugh, has provided his blessing.

Not his endorsement. Limbaugh takes pains to preserve neutrality between Trump and Ted Cruz, whom he describes as the obvious choice “if conservatism is the dominating factor in how you vote.”

But Limbaugh has also consistently defended Trump as a legitimate choice for those whose dominating factor is the humiliation of “the establishment.”

*****************

Gerson does not seem to understand that first you have to win then you can preach conservatism. Conservatism seems to have it backwards. Lose everything and stay pure and principled. Limbaugh is more pragmatic. If Trump wins he does not want to be left out of the limelight like Levin. Limbaugh understands the gravy train.

Of course, the Freeperati are thinking this through, as usual:
To: GilGil
I think Rush was losing ratings when he promoted Rubio or even Cruz.
Trump is the only guy with the balls and money to destroy the GOPe. The voters have figured it out. We want the existing political establishment out of power and government axed 20-30%.
The richest counties in America shouldn’t be anywhere near D.C.
Trump is the tool to destroy the power structure. He’s our revolution.

This would probably horrify them, but I’m rooting for the destruction of the GOP as much as they are.  Apparently, they’ve never heard the old saw: “Be careful what you wish for.”
To: TigerClaws
You are generous. A 50% cut in government would be very nice.

Cool.  Can we start with the Defense Department? That’s almost 300 billion dollars right there!
Anyway, back to the turncoat:

I have not commented on Rush due to the fact I have raised my Daughters and now Grandchildren with his program on in a lot of our Family Videos.

And he wonders why they won’t come over to his house any more…

My Wife and I have been avid followers of him back when He was in Sacramento and the mouse was in the garbage can and He used raid on him. Said that to make my point. I have turned him off this Election season I would never believed it if someone told me He would be so wrong on something so important. Still trying to figure out why , I hope it is not what I’m thinking.

No conservative supports Trump. There are people who call themselves conservative because they identify with one or two conservative precepts, and they don’t seem to have any trouble with Trump, so long as he’s talking about their pet concerns.

If you don’t belittle Cruz or say something against him, you don’t like Trump. Rush has become a demon to Trumpomania. Trumpies would run over their grandmother if she voted for Cruz.

Well, there IS that…
.
So – to sum up:
.
Rush Limbaugh is in the bag for the dreaded GOP-e, doesn’t really know what “conservatism” is,  and is ugly and his mother dresses him funny.  Did I miss anything?
To: easternsky

I turned him off when he refused to cover Obama’s eligibility, fake birth documents, failure to pass e-verify, and his non-attendance at Columbia, etc. I was profoundly surprised and disappointed.I turned off all these yappers, except if I am in the car for a very short ride to work or errand. I now listen to audiobooks.

Strange story.

David Crowley is the director and writer of a movie, “Gray State.” Trailers for the film show FEMA agents spying on and killing hundreds of Americans. The tagline for the film is “The Second American Revolution may not be remembered.”

This part caught my eye:

“… reversed my rheumatoid arthritis, my daughter’s autism …”

There’s millions of dollars spent on pills, etc. for arthritis, and possibly also research & research on autism…

if she found something effective, would that -plus what her husband researched for his film- be reason to do them in?

This guy was working on a movie that held a lot of promise. Here is a trailer of Gray StateIt is a movie about what would happen if there was a mass martial-law/FEMA-camp sort of scenario that the aggressively paranoid people in the 1990’s were constantly in fear of.

Now, in 2015, it looks a lot less aggressively-paranoid to wonder if that is where we are heading, and soon….

So isn’t it so VERY strange, than a young man who is intent on completing this movie, decides to SHOOT HIS FIVE YEAR OLD GIRL AND WIFE IN THE HEAD, and then kill himself too?

Not even if I was utterly insane could I bring myself to shoot that darling little girl…. and I am not even her father.

From the article: Mason Hendricks, one of David Crowley’s best friends, said earlier in the week that his friend left a two-sentence note that doesn’t explain anything. Hendricks wouldn’t say what the note contained.

The police have stated that this looks “suspicious” (per the article) even as the ME declares this a suicide/homicide.

I agree, this does look “suspicious”.

I just wish we would stop emulating the former Soviet Union in ABSOLUTELY every way.

UPDATE:

http://www.fox9.com/news/investigators/72445952-story

Investigators: Minnesota filmmaker obsessed with conspiracies killed family, himself

APPLE VALLEY, Minn. (KMSP) – An Apple Valley, Minn. filmmaker had become obsessed with a grim film project he was working on in the months leading up to the murder of his wife and 5-year-old daughter before killing himself, according to police, friends, and family members.

Apple Valley Police gave the FOX 9 Investigators an exclusive look at the recently completed, year-long investigation into the murder-suicide.

“Very sad scene, during the holidays, beautiful family, tragic loss,” said Apple Valley Police Chief, Jon Rechtzigel.

Detectives believe David Crowley shot his wife, Komel, and their 5-year-old daughter, Raniya on December 26, 2014. Their bodies were discovered three weeks later on January 17, 2015.

For years David Crowley had worked on a film project called “Gray State,” along with a related documentary, “The Rise.” A concept trailer for “Gray State”, shows the U.S. Government taking away all citizens’ liberties and FEMA turning into a militarized, occupying police force.

“From all accounts, he was consumed with this film and dark topic conspiracy theories about the fall of society,” said Rechtzigel. “If that’s all you’re working on, it can take you to a bad place.”

“It almost embodied him, dictating a lot of his thoughts and outlook on reality,” said Danny Mason, Co-Producer of the film project.

Elaborate conspiracy theories on the internet claim the Crowley’s were all murdered as part of a government conspiracy. Investigators found no such evidence.

The Apple Valley Police case file contains some shocking and disturbing revelations about the crime scene. Written in blood on a wall above the bodies were the words “Allahu Akbar”,which in Arabic means, “God is the greatest.” Forensic tests reveal it was written in Komelâ’s blood.

“We believe that was a parting shot. Probably at her (Komel) for having a Muslim past,” said Rechtzigel.

Between their bodies, a Koran, with pages torn out, opened to a traditional forgiveness prayer.

In the living room, David Crowley’s bloody fingerprint was on a laptop, opened to a text file, with only a single sentence: “I have loved you all with all of my heart.”

In the home office on a note pad, there were more of his bloody fingerprints and the words “submit to Allah now.”

Police believe David did not kill himself right away, after shooting his wife and daughter. He left a trail of footprints, tracking Komel’s blood through the house.

“This is a person not thinking clearly, committed a horrible act. His mind at that point was deranged, who knows what he was thinking,” said Rechtzigel.

That is also the assessment of one of David Crowley’s closest friends. “That’s David being sarcastic, him throwing a jab, (possibly) at Komel’s family,” Mason Hendricks speculated. “This has nothing to with Islam, but is ultimately about a man who lost his way, and killed his wife, his daughter and then himself.”

Komel was raised primarily in Pakistan and had converted from Islam to Christianity when the couple married. The couple met in Texas where Komel attended college and David Crowley was stationed in the US Army. Friends and family told the FOX 9 Investigators religion did not seem to play a significant role in the Crowley’s lives.

Charles Hubbel was an actor in the trailer and says in recent months Crowley became despondent that the project had lost steam.

“September time… he stopped talking to people,” Hubbel says. “He asked me to stay in touch with him so we could support each other, and he just stopped taking my calls… He was in a place where he needed help, and it was too big for him to help himself.”

His partner in the film seems to be a high-school classmate, Mitch Heil. http://www.southernminn.com/owatonna_peoples_press/article_a2cbafa2-660b-568d-a826-0b84741b27b7.html , so perhaps this Mitch could give some insight into this.
