Today on Tommy T’s Obsession with the Freeperati – “And the loons shall lie down with the Lamb” edition

Okay people – coffee break’s over – back on your heads!

One subject for today’s Obsession – Pennsylvania special election live thread!

Lamb vs. Saccone Special Election PA18
NY Times ^ | March 13, 2018

Posted on 3/13/2018, 7:16:01 PM by Pinkbell

A thread to discuss the results.

I feel like Lamb has a lot of momentum, has run as a moderate, and has run a better campaign. I’ll predict he’ll win tonight (although I’d like to see Saccone win).

NYT does a good job with election results.

Oh, DO they, now? So the “New York Slimes” is always full of fake news, but suddenly they’re the go-to for factual election results?

To: Pinkbell

The republicans would have had more excitement excrement if they ran a head of cabbage.

How can these clowns lose a state like Alabama? They’re going to give it all back to the commies if they don’t get their act together.

I thought you Freepers loved you some commies?  Or is that just since 2016?

RNC Chair Ronna Romney McDaniel needs to go home if they cannot do better than this.

I wonder how long it’s going to be before the other Freepers strap on their blamethrowers?
To: boycott

The republicans do not want the majority because they cannot justify what they are doing, tax cuts aside.

Two terms that just don’t seem to right in the same sentence.

Nice try, wannabe. I’ve got a Marine friend named Dan who could cut you into pieces small enough to hide, and he’s as liberal as they come.

God…yet another potentially close race with a LOSERTARIAN also on the ballot. I wonder if Soros is back-channel supporting these idiots?

The Republican Party sometimes picks the dumbest, most obnoxious candidates for elections.

There’s a long line of ‘em. Complete bizzarro-world idiots.

Time for Ronna Romney McDaniel to walk the plank.

Time for Ronna Romney McDaniel to walk the plank.

Why? Was she the one who pissed off the steelworkers enough to go work for the Democrat? Was she the one who was too lazy to raise money? Is she the one who is so uninspiring that Trump voters don’t care if she wins?

Forecast now shows Saccone winning.

Also, “perfect_Rovian_Storm”, you might want to change that handle. Rove has been persona non grata in Freeperville for a long time now.
Of course, the Freeperati are all up on the details as befits a political discussion board:

Someone enlighten me, is this state legislature seat really that important or is the media just hopping from podunk race to race hoping to find ones where the Rep loses as a sign that Drumpf’s momentum has turned?

double dumbass
To: Pinkbell

I share your alarm. Since Nov. its been one loss after another, coming up on 40+ seats.I see people here making excuses.

This as a whole lies with the crappy RNC chairwoman of the Romney family. Raises all types of money, YET loses every race. Can’t organize and GOTV. Time to fire her.

With a statewide vote in freaking AL it should have been a formality. Same goes for a district that Trump carried by +20 points.

Ya think?
To: boycott

The republicans would have had more excitement if they ran a head of cabbage.

I understand your point, but honestly, should this matter? What are we, a bunch of twelve year olds with ADHD?

Pretty much, yeah.

The voters of that district vote almost 20 percentage points for Trump over Clinton and most of them either sit at home or turn around and vote for Lamb? It makes no sense. I don’t care what a feeble candidate Saccone was. Trump needs Republicans in Congress or he can’t pursue his agenda, and voters know darn well Lamb is going to vote with Pelosi virtually all the time. This is stupid beyond belief.

Why are you watching them?

Anyway, yea it was kind of obvious Lamb was going to win he lead all night and we got the same old people on twitter claiming “my sources tell me Saccone is going to win by….”
Same old crap like with Moore. He stayed catching up all night and near the end same old “reliable” sources telling us not to worry Moore was going to pull it out.

There was a frickin sex scandal that led to the mid term. …

This is what I was thinking of when all this started to hit the fan. There wouldn’t even be a damn special election if the ‘Pub Congressman (Murphy) would have kept his noodle in his pants when it came to screwing around with a mistress and reportedly asking her to get an abortion all the while claiming to be pro-life. That is the kind of scandal that is going to tarnish the brand of any ‘Pub candidate who tries to hold the seat. I don’t understand why these people have to screw up like this.

Because they’re Republicans.  Next question.

How difficult is it to simply say no to one’s baser proclivities and so lead a moral life? I’m no saint, but I know enough not to screw around and betray my marriage vows.

To: Pinkbell
Even if by some miracle the absentee ballots, recount, or something were to switch this to be a GOP win ….. the fact is that the momentum is heavily headed right now towards a huge Dem landslide in Nov2018 where they pick up 40+ seats in the US House, possibly take control of the US Senate, and perform well in governorships (i.e. who will control most of the Census 2020 redistricting) & other State/local races. The Dem’s don’t need any message but “No on Trump” to pull this off if the current momentum continues.

The biggest key to them pulling this off will be if the GOP and Conservatives choose to be in denial on what’s really happening and what the long term consequences shall be. Instead what needs to happen is to focus on what’s needed for the GOP to win.

1. Russia (and other bad actors) are going to try to sway the 2018 election.

Gee – I wonder who they’ll be pimping for?

Their goal will be to get us a divided anti-American government which can be achieved by the Dem’s taking over Congress. So remember “Russia wants the Dems to win Congress to divide America more than ever”.

2. Trump has got to get the GOP united and put an end to the infighting. Sure there have been troublemakers like Flake but he’s got to get them united and be a team.

I would say that being part of The Darnold’s team is a short-term job opportunity,

3. Trump has to get his approval ratings up.

That would mean he’d have to stop being Trump.  Na. Ga. Ha. Pen.

4. The anti-Trump stooges need to be exposed as being anti-American and tools of Putin and other bad actors.

OK – that’s pretty funny,  Taking one sin off for utter cluelessness.

5. Remember that it comes down to the mathematics of turnout and on how all politics is local. Getting out the vote is going to be extremely crucial and important.

Seems to be, yeah.

(snip blather about “illegals voting”)

And of course – the Loony Tunes:
To: fwdude

Moore was a loon. He was part of plenty of decisions from the bench that were NOT conservative. Spouting nonsense on the campaign trail is not “conservative”, it’s just nonsense. Unfortunately, there are enough loons on the Republican side who refuse to evaluate before following somehting off a cliff. They refuse to look at actual votes or even statements.

There are too many on our side are just in a deranged mode of wanting to be angry. So they just claim everyone is an establishment person. Again, not looking at what votes actually are on legislation, etc. They just follow what someone threw out on a website, etc.
