You may have noticed that I like drummer jokes. They’re the low-hanging fruit of the musical world: drummers, can’t live with them, can’t live without them.

I posted a version of Lonesome Road by Gene Krupa last Friday. That inspired this post.

Gene Krupa was the first celebrity drummer. He rose to fame as Benny Goodman’s drummer and kept recording until shortly before his death in 1973.
