Rocket To The Morgue is one of the pulpiest titles ever. William Anthony Parker White DBA Anthony Boucher was a man of many pen names. HH Holmes was one of them. And yes, Boucher knew Holmes was a serial killer. That’s why he selected it as a pen name. Writers are weird.
He also wrote one of the creepiest short stories I’ve ever read: They Bite. A sort of supernatural take on the Bloody Benders of Kansas. Make sure the lights are on.
I’ll have to check it out. Boucher was a really interesting man and fine writer.
