So Very Hard To Go

Tower Of Power circa 1973.

The Friday Cocktail Hour returns for the first time in three weeks with a streamlined edition. My brain has progressed faster than my body BUT I selected Walkin’ My Baby Back Home for this feature. I already did that number in 2021, so out it went. Oopsie.

in the interest of making my life easier as I muddle through my illness, we have one song, one version instead of the usual multi-artist format. It’s one of my favorite Seventies soul songs.

So Very Hard To Go was written in 1973 by TOP horn men Emilio Castillo and Stephen Kupka. It was a big hit for my Bay Area homies. I have homies hither and yon.

Ladies and germs, I give you Tower Of Power with Lenny Williams on lead vocals.

That’s it for this truncated Friday Cocktail Hour. I’m not drinking booze right now, so have a shot of Bourbon for me, will ya? It’s what Bogie, Betty, and Frank would want. Never argue with them.
