Singer-songwriter Eric Carmen died a few weeks ago at the age of 74. This week’s Friday Cocktail Hour honors Carmen’s passing by presenting his best loved song all by itself. That’s not a raspberry aimed at Celine Dion who also had a hit with All By Myself but a tribute to Carmen.

I was a big fan of both The Raspberries and Carmen’s solo music, and was surprised when he followed me on Twitter several years ago. I happily followed him back, but in time was dismayed to discover he was a major Trump supporter. By the 2020 election and the subsequent Dipshit Insurrection, he was tweeting so much pro-Trump bilge that I unfollowed him. He eventually left Twitter altogether. So sad when artists and celebrities we once admired turn out to be so delusional, misguided and bitter.
