Malaka Of The Week: Facebook

I had a run-in with Facebook’s fakakta algorithm this morning. And that is why Facebook is malaka of the week.

I was threatened with suspension or worse for my social media tagline for My Uncle Is A ‘Loser’ 3.0:

I’m revisiting one of my most personal posts because of the Kelly interviews. I hope this will be the last time I post this. We need to whip the Nazis just like we did in 1945.”

It passed muster at Blue Sky, Twitter, and even Threads, which is owned by Facebook’s parent company Meta.

Mr. Algorithm informed me that this language violated community standards because it could provoke violence. Is it worried that Nazis will get punched? Did it root for the bad guys in World War II? Does it even know what happened in 1945? It was much worse than a mere whipping.

Trust me, I’m not a violent guy. I’m a patriotic American who sees his country on the slippery slope to Fascism and posted accordingly. I’ve seen much worse things on Facebook than that tagline. I believe in calling a fascist a fascist and a Nazi a Nazi.

I’ve been down this road with Facebook before and it’s a road to nowhere. I don’t need the aggravation, so I deleted the post and removed the last sentence: We need to whip the Nazis just like we did in 1945.

The revision was accepted so no Nazis will be punched or some such shit.

This is the problem with substituting Meta AI for human beings. Is Meta AI pro-Nazi? Does it even know who and what America fought during World War II? Does it even care? Did it think I would take a bullwhip to David Duke? All I have are questions.

I’m not threatening to leave the platform because I find it useful in ways both small and large. But seriously: Facebook is worried about Nazi punching when they should be worried about being censored should Trump win the election. And that is why Facebook is malaka of the week.

Writing this was much more satisfying than sparring with Mr. Algorithm or fighting Meta AI.

Repeat after me: Facebook can go fuck itself.

The last word goes to Devo, The Rolling Stones, and The Dazz Band with three songs with the offensive word WHIP in the title:
