It’s amazing how smart you can seem if you just keep your mouth shut until the facts come out.
That assumes, of course, that you’re more interested in quality of contribution that quantity of clicks.
The usual suspects would have you believe that Vance Boelter, arrested for the murders of two people and serious wounding of two more in a seeming act of political violence, is somehow an example of left-on-left crime.
Sure, that says a lot about the people peddling the narrative, but it says more about the many being peddled, doesn’t it?
Boelter is a right-winger beyond a reasonable doubt.
If all the available evidence somehow leaves someone on the fence, consider this: In one attack, he caught two people by surprise, shot them a total of 17 times, and managed to kill exactly neither of them. That is some Stormtrooper-caliber work.
He did manage to kill two others in his other attack. But he also wounded their dog beyond repair. That tells you that he’s a coward or that he had other aspirations to run the Department of Homeland Security. Or maybe both.
Over the weekend, Fox News ignored the growing pile of evidence that Boelter was a Republican targeting Democrats, instead only mentioning that Boelter had some “No Kings” event fliers in his car.
So what’s more likely: Lefty decides to go shoot liberal lawmakers and, what, pass out some fliers for an anti-Trump event? Or, frustrated right-wing white man finally loses his shit, goes postal on Democratic lawmakers and their families over his radical anti-abortion views among other things, and he noted where he could find a bunch of mere unelected libs along the way.
The fact that we have to spend time countering desperate b.s. counternarratives is a pointed comment on our odds as a country.
So fair, so balanced. They report, we deride.
Finally: Adopt, don’t shop. RIP, Gilbert. Like many of the rest of us except moreso, you deserved better.
