Malaka Of The Week: Senator Mike Lee

There’s nothing worse than a dumbass who thinks they’re the smartest guy in the room. That’s Utah Senator Mike Lee in a wingnut shell. He’s always saying cruel and stupid shit. This time, he got called on it up close and personal. And that is why Mike Lee is malaka of the week.

The featured image is of Minnesota Senator Tina Smith confronting Lee over shit he posted on Twitter/X last weekend. They involved inflammatory and false comments about the victims and the shooter in the assassinations of two Minnesota politicians. We begin with the message linking Governor Tim Walz to the massacre:

That’s what passes for wit on the far right. Lee also cannot spell the 2024 Democratic Veep nominee’s name. It’s not that hard, dude, just drop the T.

There’s more to come. I couldn’t find a screenshot of this one, so here’s a quote:

Lee posted, “This is what happens when Marxists don’t get their way,” Sunday on X, along with a photo of the suspected shooter released by the FBI, showing a masked man at the door of a lawmaker’s house.

There are Marxists in America in 2025? Who knew?

The shooter whose name I refuse to use is MAGA to the rotten core. He’s another asshole incited to violence by the vicious and dehumanizing rhetoric of the Insult Comedian.

Senator Smith had some success in shaming Senator Malaka. He eventually removed the offensive messages but has declined to apologize. Lee is following the example of the Kaiser of Chaos who never apologizes. That’s why I call him:

In addition to being a terrible human being, Mike Lee is a bad Mormon. It’s not because Lee is a liar. Mormons have been known to lie: the entire faith is based on a fakakta fable about Joseph Smith and the angel Moroni. BUT Latter Day Saints are known for their extreme politeness. Most Mormons apologize frequently and sincerely over matters small and large.

In contrast to his co-religionists,  Mike Lee’s head is lodged too far up the presidential posterior to apologize or admit error even after being blasted by the LDS church owned Deseret News:

“The tweets were unacceptable for anyone, let alone from a member of the Senate,” the Deseret News editorial board wrote. “It revealed a lack of compassion for both victims and their loved ones and cast a poor light on Utah, the state Sen. Lee represents.”

The Beehive State is buzzing over Mike Lee’s malakatude. Rudeness is a sin to Mormons; trolling should be too. The Senator is a troll. And that is why Utah Senator Mike Lee is malaka of the week.

I threw in the Beehive State reference so I could post this song: Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers get the last word.

  1. The way Republicans have publicly responded to these murders could lead one to believe they’re only disappointed he didn’t finish the job.
