The ACLU Uncovers Another Smoking Gun

From Holden:

Last month the ACLU’s ongoing Freedom of Information Act request for documents relating to the mistreatment of detainees in the War on Terra revealed an FBI memo that referenced an executive order signed by George Bush authorizing illegal acts of torture.

Today we learn that they have uncovered another document that may be even more damning.

[P]apers obtained by the ACLU include a heavily edited document referring to an investigation captioned “Corruption Federal Public Official – Executive Branch,” which appears to have been referred to the FBI because of a “conflict of interest.”

Accompanying this document is an FBI summary of “potentially relevant criminal statutes.” The statutes pertain to war crimes, torture, aggravated sexual abuse, and sexual abuse of a minor or ward.

Oh, my. I wonder which corrupt official in the executive branch may be implicated in “war crimes, torture, aggravated sexual abuse, and sexual abuse of a minor or ward”?

Rumsfeld? Bush himself?

The ACLU is going back to court because they think more documents are being witheld, and to gain access to the text that was redacted from those documents they did receive.

Stay tuned, this could get hot.
