Boy when his plane lands…

Yesterday General Pace casting doubt

We know that the explosively formed projectiles are manufactured in Iran. What I would not say is that the Iranian government, per se [specifically], knows about this,” he said. “It is clear that Iranians are involved, and it’s clear that materials from Iran are involved, but I would not say by what I know that the Iranian government clearly knows or is complicit.

Today on CNN

ED HENRY, CNN CORRESPONDENT: And finally, Tony Snow also said in the briefing that he had just
recently in the last hour or so gotten off the phone with General Pace
and insisted that General Pace is saying privately that they are on the
same page. There’s really not a difference here.

The
problem, though, is that General Pace is now, apparently, on an
airplane coming back from Australia or Indonesia and, bottom line,
we’re not going to be able to get to him for about another day
to get
his side of the story, Kyra. (all emphasis mine)

Anyone want to bet against me that a statement from Pace will be forthcoming and it won’t sound like the one above?

The man’s first name is General, i wouldn’t count on him correcting the President.

I’m just glad to see the media pointing out the discrepancies in a WH press briefing and finally grilling Tony Snow. I’m sure Pace will do an aboutface and all will be forgotten. But in the meanwhile, it’s refreshing Ed Henry is one of the few reporters out there not afraid to go after bs when he hears it.

  3. hoppycalif says:

General Pace will insist he didn’t say what he is recorded as having said, but that he said whatever the White House said, and no video tape can change his mind. Or, he is ready to retire anyway, and may take this opportunity for a buyout.
