I’m a bit surprised that such little attention has been paid to this statement that Chimpy made in yesterday’s presser.
First, the — Iraq will be a society in which there is relative peace. I say “relative peace” because if it’s like zero car bombings, it never will happen that way.
Iraq under Saddam experienced “zero car bombings”, how is it the all-powerfull US military cannot establish the same degree of security that the Iraqi people enjoyed before we kicked over his popsicle stand?
People of Iraq, welcome to your future courtesy of the good ole U S of A.

Are you sure we won’t be the ones doing the car-bombing?
well you see, that’s chimpy’s definitiion of relative peace for the middle east – those people are savages, and they just loves them some car bombs, yes they do.
found it. from the cspan interview (i misremembered this as being better off now than before):
bush: I listened to a lot of folks and said, instead of creating the conditions that would yield chaos, why don’t we help this Iraqi government stabilize the capital city of Baghdad. MOST OF THE COUNTRY IS IN GOOD SHAPE. The truth of the matter is, if Baghdad looked like most of the rest of the country, we wouldn’t be having this conversation.
apparently tjis is what georgie ment when freedom rains.
The ‘those people are savages’ meme is exactly what right wing media and 24 are selling. Some asshole here at work was just spouting it.
