A homeless encampment by New Orleans City Hall hastripled in size

This burgeoning rights movement has staked a claim on a growing
encampment that sits in the shadow of City Hall. Before the watchful
eyes of city officials, the homeless camp has tripled over the past few
months, to the point where it’s now sleeping roughly 150 a night — a
size that seems to threaten its very existence, as it’s now garnering
the attention and annoyance of public officials.

There is an estimated 12,000 people homeless in the NO metro area.
