It’s Fucking DISTRACTING

Guys. Seriously. You and me, we’re fucking done professionally.

This is how the Democrats are going to fuck this up. AGAIN. Because the American people simply don’t understand what is TAKING SO LONG to get this health care thing handled. We know what needs to be done to fix the problem, we know how to make it happen (get some interns to scribble shit down and we all vote on it) and we know it should take about an afternoon and a half and that’s just because somebody has to wake up Robert Byrd and pull David Vitter out of whatever hooker’s vagina he’s slipped and fallen into this time. We do jobs every day that are harder than what Congress has to do right now, and we’re getting tired of the freaking excuses, and we’re evengetting a little bit pissed at Obama, because he doesn’t seem tired enough of hearing this crap.

I mean, what exactly in the hell … What don’t you fucking understand? What don’t you get about it? Let’s slow this down? We’re working on this approximately 20 years after it should have been handled and would have been if Congressional Dems hadn’t wussed out the first time and these people want us to chill out for a while? I could see the argument if maybe we didn’t know what to do or how to do this, like, say, if we were invading a country we didn’t know what it would do after we blew it up kind of thing. That might be something we should puzzle out for a few weeks, but this? This isn’t a new problem, it’s an old one, and listening to certain pinheads natter about how it’s just too hard …

You know what’s too hard? Going into the doctor’s office the way I did at 6:15 this morning and hearing, “You have an unpaid balance of X” and trying to figure out how to fit that into the household budget, which isn’t even that much money considering how in debt most people get from unexpected shit. You know what’s too hard? Listening to my parents and my family and my friends talk about how if they don’t get approved for a plan by this date, or get permission to do that thing, they’ll have to stay uncovered, or sick, or just plain frustrated for one single more day than is absolutely necessary because Ben Nelson and Mary Landrieu are looking for ways to slow this thing down and Obama seems inclined to do anything other than go precisely as nuts as Batman up there is going.

You want to slow this down? OH GOOD FOR YOU.

    abso-frickin-lutely, Athenae.
This is the most frustrated I’ve been in my whole adult life (well, except for that whole last eight years thing) about anything.
I’m 61, so I’m livin’ the dream, baby, paying $$$$$ for crap insurance that I’m afraid to use. Vitamins, that’s my healthcare. That, and crossing my fingers.
And I live in a crap southern state where none of my congressional delegation is worth a damn.
What to do, what to do?

75%+ voters want it (per multiple polls) and Congress still stalls. Money sure talks, doesn’t it?

  3. missy says:

Thanks, Athenae. I’ve gotten too exhausted just listening to them to write anything close to that.

Q: What happens when Democrats hold the White House and large majorities in both houses of Congress?
    A: Absolutely nothing.

Why hasn’t Russ Feingold’s head exploded? That –
somebody has to wake up Robert Byrd and pull David Vitter out of whatever hooker’s vagina he’s slipped and fallen into this time.
    – did it for mine.

Let’s face it: All Congress members are always going to be owned by someone. And, they will always do the bidding of that owner. So, why not get in the game and purchase our own members of Congress? All it would take is something like $25 from each of us who want Congress to do the right thing, whether that is to impeach the last SOB who was President, or pass a good single payer health care bill.
Right now those $25 donations seem to only come from employees of insurance companies, of drug companies, of medical equipment makers, and from numerous others who are few in number, compared to us, but have the incentive to put a few dollars up front. As a result we have the best Congress those folks can buy.
Does anyone seriously think members of Congress care about something as much as getting reelected? And, that means they care about getting the money necessary to ensure that they will be reelected. Why can’t it be us who supply that money?

    public financing NOW!

    Athenae,
It is unfortunate that you are unable to keep track of your medical bills. You really should have known you owed something before you arrived at the doctor’s office.
It is also unfortunate that this problem will not go away under the currently proposed legislation. You will still have copays and things that are not covered.
With regard to passing this legislation yesterday: it wasn’t all that long ago that many folks were complaining about the republipigs passing massive legislation in the dark of night without giving the lowely rank and file congress critter time to read and debate the bill (remember the patriot act?).
The 1000 pages plus that the house excreted unread by each and every one of them does deserve to be read and debated line by paragraph as should any piece of legislation.
Given the high education level of the typical congress critter it may take them a while to read and understand the bill. But, they should before they vote yea or nay.
