Friday Ferretblogging: Fwuffy

Preserving in memory Bucky’s stunning winter coat, since as it’s finally started to warm up here he’s due to start shedding it all over pretty soon.

Ferrets’ coats change color when they change seasons and when they age; it’s why Stripe was named Stripe even though he had no stripes. He’d had one once. Riot was much darker as a baby than he is now, now he’s almost as pale as Puck. It’s going to be interesting to see what Bucky turns into.

  1. What beautiful animals.
The white tornado went to the vet this morning for chemo. I’m going to have to start bringing along my own vacuum cleaner at the rate he sheds–there was a good-sized pile of white cat hair on the table (and on me, and on the vet, and on the vet tech) when we left. Between the season and the stress, it’s a wonder he isn’t bald.

  2. my whiskers had 1 white whisker as a kitten. disappeared for a while, then he had one on each side.(black cat). then 3, but mostly the fu manchu look.
