So we took Puck to the vet a couple of weeks ago for his regular adrenal cancer meds (he’s been on Lupron shots, for those of you who are ferret-savvy, for more than a year now) and the vet took a look at some strange lumps on his belly and generally worked him over, and basically the sitch is this: His adrenal cancer’s getting worse, and at his age (six and a half) the vet doesn’t recommend a surgery. However, since he’s not in any pain, and he still eats, sleeps peacefully, uses the litter box and plays a little, there’s no need to take any urgent action, either.
He’s getting spoiled rotten here at home, natch, and recently I got a box full of those inflatable plastic bubbles they use instead of packing peanuts. Puck promptly adopted one as a mattress and spends most of his time lounging on it:
Like it’s a float in a swimming pool. He’s a good boy.

Poor ferrety ferret. Sympathies and empathies… 🙁
Awww, the poor thing.
My cats love laying on that stuff too.
Oh, A. I know, I know, I know. Spoil him rotten.
he’s already 6? but the spares are gonna be 7. getting old sucks.
OK, just keep it away from his nose and mouth. And it’s not to be used as a flotation device!
take good care of him…i know you do…
Anything can become a toy. That is a sign of a lovely imagination.
Awww, A. I remember when he was your newest… they go too fast, don’t they?
