I’m glad you beat me to this. That was fun.
When I was a kid, 4 or 5 or so, there was an LP in the house of famous baseball audio; Gehrig’s farewell, Ruth’s farewell, some Dizzy Dean, etc. And of course Russ Hodges and Bobby Thompson. I don’t know if it was the excitement in his voice, or that I was that big a baseball fan even at that age or just what it was. But I listened to it pretty darn often.
