Twitter exploded last night, after Bob Woodward revealed that White
House official had warned him he would “regret” saying Obama had moved
the goal posts on sequestration.
Predictably, conservatives
latched onto this, as it confirmed our suspicion about the Obama
Administration’s “Chicago-style” of politics. A lot of mainstream
journalists bought into this, too — reflexively believing anything the
great Bob Woodward says.
Of course, Woodward (who was expert at
trolling for publicity before the internet even existed), benefits
greatly from the publicity (nothing sells books like controversy).

To: Nachum; All
No, Woodward did not troll us.
What is being lost in all of this, is that Woodward got about a 30
minute earful from the White House, and that earful wasn’t whispered
sweet nothings, either.
And Lanny davis and Fournier have been on the receiving end, too.

No. Just a sensible analysis of the facts.
When
I saw conservatives start to drool over Woodward, I suspected we were
being played. He probably sold 10,000 books from people who wouldn’t
have considered it before his big “break” from the administration.

Well, let’s go to turncoats-ville, shall we? We’ll start with the oldest drums of traitor-baiting and work our messy way forward.

Colin Powell Slams ‘Idiot Presentations’ by Some Republicans, Urges GOP Leaders to ‘Speak Out’
In
an interview with ABC’s Diane Sawyer and George Stephanopoulos during
ABC’s special inauguration day coverage this morning, former Secretary
of State Colin Powell lashed out at people in the Republican Party who
spent the last four years spreading “birther nonsense” and other “things
that demonize the president,” calling on GOP leaders to denounce such
talk — publicly.
“Republicans have to stop buying into things
that demonize the president. I mean, why aren’t Republican leaders
shouting out about all this birther nonsense and all these other things?
They should speak out. This is the kind of intolerance that I’ve been
talking about where these idiot presentations continue to be made and
you don’t see the senior leadership of the party say, ‘No, that’s
wrong.’ In fact, sometimes by not speaking out, they’re encouraging it.
And the base keeps buying the stuff.
“And it’s killing the base
of the party. I mean, 26 percent favorability rating for the party right
now. It ought to be telling them something. So, instead of attacking me
or whoever speaks like I do, look in the mirror and realize, ‘How are
we going to win the next election?”

And – from the pot calling the kettle black department:

Colin Powell looked into himself and asked: “m I American or Black?”
He not only decided that question needed to be asked (it doesn’t) he
answered in the latter when he voted and now speacks 100% based on the
latter.
Shut up Colin, you damn racist.

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and Fox News Channel are parting ways,
according to a report in Real Clear Politics. After three years as a
paid contributor for the channel, FNC and the former Republican vice
presidential nominee have decided to cut ties.
A source close to Palin told Real Clear Politics that it was the governor’s decision not to renew their contract.
*”It’s
my understanding that Gov. Palin was offered a contract by FOX, and she
decided not to renew the arrangement,” the source close to Palin told
RCP. “She remains focused on broadening her message of common-sense
conservatism across the country and will be expanding her voice in the
national discussion.”

Are we talking about the same FOX news? And“Mulato Messiah”? Why not just call him an octaroon and be done with it?

Agreed. It is apparent to me that she has not invested
her time in becoming more informed. I wish her and her family well. She
is great as a cheerleader, and I mean that positively, but she does not
havegravitas. The media crucified Gingrich. I don’t see her overcoming them in a campaign.

I’m sorry but you are clueless!!! Sarah didn’t resign because of
the press, she resign because the democrats were trying to bankrupt her
by filling frivilous and fake ethical charges against her. She said that
the time to personally defend herself legally well over 20 charges and
more that were coming was taking a toll on the state business. The
Republicans there hated her and didn’t want to come to her aid either.
She sacrifice(sic) herself so that the State could move forward. You are

Well, Fox News needed to fill the void left by Sarah Palin’s absence
… so the network hired Herman Cain as a contributor, it announced
today. Cain, the former president and CEO of Godfather’s Pizza, will
also contribute to the Fox Business Network. He says he’s looking
forward to the job because it is “an opportunity to be one more voice
for intelligent thinking in America.” Fox has been shuffling its
contributor lineup since the election, also recently hiring Dennis
Kucinich and Scott Brown.

Also I’ve never understood something from the moment that Rush came out with “half-rican”. Using census criteria, 1/2 black = black. And while I get that they want to avoid to appear to jump on Obama because he is black, what is the logic in using Mulatto / half-rican/etc. as if these were worse than being black?
