Today on Tommy T’s Obsession with the Freeperati – gun crazy edition

Morning, all! While I was out sick, I see that you guys pitched in and made some improvements to the iso chamber.

Elspeth, thank you for the cupcake dispenser, although I’m not so sure about the Muse-inspired glitter frosting.

Maplestreet, I like the new see-through handles on the filter panels – lets one see if there’s any accumulated sludge up there before you pull them down for cleaning.

Blacksheepone, I see you replaced the rubber handles on the emergency dump levers – excellent idea.

Dee Loralei, Mazareth, and Aaaaargh – the airlock seal gaskets have never looked better.

Jude – the whiskey spigot is a good idea, but you might want to move it to the anteroom to avoid temptation.

Adrastos – thanks for letting Precious Kitty frolic with Della while I was indisposed.

Oh – and Kibitzer?

Thanks for the new doormat – I think.

Since the first post is a really really long one, in a Obsession first, the entire freaking post is under the fold.

Show me some love, clickety-click!

  1. The OrangeDog “Best Post of the Thread” above almost has to be a troll.
The writer is coherent, sarcastic, and most importantly, correct.
    No way that’s a Freeper.

  2. Considering the Tea Party’s demographics, if they are going underground, they aren’t coming back until the second coming. Or the zombie Apocalypse. Whichever comes first.

  3. OrangeDog post. Gotta agree that it is too literate for a Freeper.
Only his post missed the 1983 New York Times article warning about the NSA (just google NSA 1983)
About the Tea Party – Maybe it is just like the CSA. I’ve heard so many people proclaim in all seriousness, “The South Shall Rise Again.” (Like Jay mentions).
Or a line from a comedy program that I’m ashamed to admit that I watched it. I an episode where the lead character is put in jail and, for protection, tries to join various factions. He introduces himself to the white prison gang (Aryan Brotherhood like group), “The Civil War wasn’t the end game, it was just the half-time.”

  4. Good choice. Safety fanatics would argue for the recovery room, but I never like to go in cold-stone sober.

Are the police STALKING George Zimmerman? It sure seems that way given that he’s had three or more run-ins with them in the past couple weeks. It sure looks like maybe the NSA is reporting his where-abouts to local cops as part of an administration-sponsored retaliation against the man… [September 09, 2013 1:58:22 PM by MeganC (A gun is like a parachute. If you need one, and don’t have one, you’ll never need one again.)]

Wow. Just Wow. This might be a new record in Freepus paranoia. Maybe next time GZ will decide to Stand His Ground against the cops.

Maybe the tea party is just lying low – they’ve gone underground so to speak, and will rise again during the upcoming elections. It keeps them out of the MSM to let people think they are no longer a force to be reckoned with. JMO of course [August 14, 2013 2:49:00 AM by Catsrus]

Yea, that’s it. As the rosy fingers of dawn reach out over the polls, the shades of the Old Confederacy will rise from the grave, led by the Tea Party, South Freepistan, and their solitary hero: nathanbedford (“Attack, repeat, attack!” Bull Halsey).

  5. Thanks, TommyT! Those folks sure don’t mind letting their paranoia show for all the world to see.

  6. I know this would be totally despicable and tacky and lower me to the level of the gun nuts, but it is SOOO tempting.
Every article in the local TV News web page can turn into an open invitation for either a posting of how Obama is taking our rights away / Obama is responsible for it (including the potholes in the local streets) / etc. -OR- a protestation of 2nd Amendment rights.
A few days ago there was a drug bust in the Walmart parking lot (we’re a small rural town. the Walmart is even the place where you take your date on prom night -= I’m not making this up.) Of course someone posts that we need to protect ourselves by carrying a gun.
It even gets tackier. On many times there was a crime or a death, folks post that if they had been there (or the victim was carrying) then there would never be a crime. Quite soothing for the grieving family, I’m sure.
I am SOOO tempted to lower to their level and, as a possible example, on the shooting deaths in DC this AM, make a post pointing out that the Navy just might have a gun or two lying around. And look what happened anyway.

If the Tea Party is trying the “South will rise again” approach, then we’re safe for the next 145 years (and counting)…
