Today on Tommy T’s Obsession with the Freeperati Saturday Special – CON-voy edition

Hi guys! Ms. A gave me permission to do a Saturday Special, since Monday’s post was assembled before this Grand Plan Of The Tea Party Grassy-roots came to fruition.

What Grand Plan, you ask?

‘Truckers for the Constitution’ Plan to Slow D.C. Beltway, Arrest CongressmenUS News & World Report ^ | October 7, 2013 | By Steven Nelson

Posted on Monday, October 07, 2013 8:33:28 PM by Fireone

Earl Conlon, a Georgia trucker who is handling logistics for the protest, told U.S. News tractor-trailer drivers will circle the beltway “three lanes deep” as he rides with other participants to Congress to seek the arrest of congressmen for allegedly disregarding the Constitution. “We want these people arrested, and we’re coming in with the grand jury to do it,” he said. “We are going to ask the law enforcement to uphold their constitutional oath and make these arrests. If they refuse to do it, by the power of the people of the United States and the people’s grand jury, they don’t want to do it, we will. … We the people will find a way.”

This could become very interesting, very quickly. #T2SDA #2MBikers

Of course, the Freeperati are always hopeful that their AR-15 clones and those ammo stockpiles will finally justify their families going without food to pay for them:

Or just the provocation Barry needs to cry “Insurrection” and call out the brownshirts?

And then that in turn would be the provocation WE need to declare civil war and call out the hordes of armed to the teeth patriots…

Of course, some of the Freeperati are skeptical, and some seem almost cognizant of the real world:

I’d like to know who came up with the leftard fantasy of arresting congressmen.

Well hell yeah. Let’s not do anything confrontational. We can just post pictures of a book that has had no effect on the leftist takeover of our country .this site had better take a look at who is GOPe and who is serious.

Yowza! It’s time for another purge! One that will make the Chris Christie supporters (when he gets the 2016 nomination) look like a maypole dance!

To: Nervous Tick

Why are there posters trying to belittle this? I believe any thumb to the eye of this administration is a noble act. Something is wrong.

Watching 495 traffic cams on Nothing looks out of the ordinary. Will be in the vicinity late tonight. Curious to see what is going on. Boss already told me stay off 495. He was told pics will be taken and expect FMCSA audits if your truck is in one. Wouldn’t put it past this regime. A truck is a rolling billboard for the company.

That pix is from Hagerstown, probably not shocking since the interstates are very popular for trucks in the Appalachians.

Report on FOX that looks like a dud. Ironically were truckers scared by the awful rain? Or just a dud, period? I can say they picked a hell of a day and would totally muck up things if they came.

As they said hopefully on FOX, there is still time.

Thank you, thank you! I’ve been checking the TV channels and not finding anything.Sadly I found a link on Drudge that says ‘dozens, not thousands of trucks.…’, but I’m hoping it’s too early to judge yet.

Don’t get too excited…has the number of thirty trucks been CONFIRMED yet? We need confirmation of 30 trucks (or at least 28) before you start tooting your own horn.

And then…

To: Lucky9teen

Nice photos but at least two of those photos being spread on twitter and posted repeatedly were taken from other unrelated events in the past.

The second photo is from a Make-a-Wish rally in May 2013 where hundreds of trucks showed up in support of the Make-a-Wish Foundation.—16-heartwarming-pictures.html

The fifth photo is from a Super Rig Rally held in Joplin, Missouri June 5, 2012.

So – let’s sum up.
Out of the Million Truckers touted –30 or so actually show up.
Of those 30 – exactly FOUR display civil disobedience by lining up abreast and slowing traffic.
All four are pulled over by the police.
Are they shot by the Brownshirts? Whisked away to Gitmo lest millions rise up to support them?
Nope. They got a lecture from the police about not being dicks, and let go.
Not even a ticket.
Bloody revolution just isn’t what it used to be.
Next up from the wingnuts –the Million Moron March!!
Now, that they can probably achieve – if they can be presuaded to get up from behind their keyboards…
We now return you to your regularly scheduled First Draft.

Ah hope does spring eternal in the cuckoo breast. As long as someone else does the heavy lifting for them, they’re quite glad to feast on the fruits of that labor. It’s been their life-long pattern, and there’s no reason to stop now. They don’t even realize that the cannibal capitalists they’ve cheered all their miserable lives have run through the “other” victims, and now it’s their turn in the stew pot. Their inborn advantages no longer protect them, but they still hold out hope that their edge will be restored through some magical intervention.
Guess what, guys? That boat you’re in? We’re in it, too, and have been the whole time. The misfortunes visited on our heads, the ones you cheered so fervently? Well, they’re yours now as well.

  2. merciless says:

What a treat! Thanks, Tommy, for the special Saturday report. I’ve been keeping up via tcot on twitter, and it’s been a real doozy this week. See you on Monday!

  3. Snarki, child of Loki says:

    Hey, great timing, dudes!
During a federal shutdown, on a Friday before a 3 day (Mon Fed holiday) weekend, during a bit Nor’Easter rainstorm…oh yeah, SO many folks are going to notice.
How many of those trucks were carrying porta-potties for the TeaTard/Keyboard Kommandos rally?

  4. Maplestreet says:

Thanks Tommy, I was disappointed that the news didn’t seem to be reporting anything about this (although the news not reporting a juvenile stunt is really quite a snub – saying it was so juvenile that they weren’t even bothering with it)
” the leftard fantasy of arresting congressmen” – uh, when has the left made plans to abduct congressmen? Me thinks the TeaBaggers tend to project too much. Like a bunch of kids. You hit your playmate and then complain to the adult that they hit you.
Not to mention that if the police step in, the Freepers were already yelling Brown Shirted Thugs – as if the police didn’t have a clear responsibility to keep traffic moving (although having been in DC for 2 weeks, I freely defer to MichealF’s earlier post that traffic is congested in DC anyway).
Had missed taking up 3 lanes of 495. Seems like that would take a whole lot of trucks to fill up that space. Looking up the length limits for trucks (such as at it appears that 80 feet would be a reasonable initial guess for truck length plus space between trucks, assuming that none of the trucks are dual trailer, overlength, etc.) Or roughly 200 trucks per mile to get 3 abreast.= 12,800 for 64 miles.
Wonder if the handful that actually showed up and got caught, wonder if that might be a problem with keeping their commercial driver’s license and necessary permits for hauling interstate?

  5. Dee Loralei says:

    Thanks Tommy T!

    Guys – thank Ms. A.
I asked her for permission to do an extra post on Facebook, and her reply was “DO EET!”
    So I did.

  8. Tommy T says:

My Facebook identity info can be had for the trifle of asking Ms. A., BTW.
I welcome all FB friends, needless to say.
Ms. A. can hook us up – I’m not on the First Draft masthead to email, and I’m not EVEN going to post the FB URL here, for obvious spambot harvesting reasons.

  9. Mass says:

    That’s Million Moran Walk

  10. adrastos says:

Thanks for the special edition, mon frere. That picture of that scantily clad goober is seared into my memory. Hmm, why am I thanking you?

  11. MapleStreet says:

Adrastos – could it be because for the Tea Baggers and Stand Your Ground folks, the picture has the physiologic effects as hard-core porn? 😉
If I remember right, it is either this or a very similar picture where the guy didn’t really want to take the picture but his girlfriend wanted him to pose in such a pose with the gun equipment for props.

  12. Snarki, child of Loki says:

MapleStreet: IIRC, the guy in that photo is rather liberal, and the pose was intended to be a sarcastic jibe on ‘winger warmonger fantasies.

  13. Facebook friend of mine posted a picture of the so-called “convoy” showing a ton of trucks headed down the highway, hated to tell him it was a hoax:

  14. Maplestreet says:

SB – the first picture is funny enough in that the claim for a convoy doesn’t really seem to have a higher density of trucks than normal traffic.
But the second picture is priceless. And it is so believable that these folks in the 2nd picture, if they are repubs, would decide to jump on the highway and cause gridlock, exercising their “rights” to free passage.
