“Duck Dynasty” star Phil Robertson has been fired from the reality program following his controversial remarks in GQ magazine regarding homosexuality.
A+E Networks, parent company of A&E, has released the following statement to Variety:
“We are extremely disappointed to have read Phil Robertson’s comments in GQ, which are based on his own personal beliefs and are not reflected in the series Duck Dynasty. His personal views in no way reflect those of A+E Networks, who have always been strong supporters and champions of the LGBT community.”

The trouble is, the only way a cable-only network can crash and burn is if the reaction is so strong is that folks cancel the whole cable bundle that includes it to drop the channel. Of course, this should accelerate the decision of folks to “cut the cable”, but I’m not sure that can hurt Hearst’s and Disney’s bottom line enough to harm the A&E brand in the estimation of its owners.

Just a heads up for coming attractions. For some reason CNN had 2 examples of wing-nuttery this week.
Just today, they had the near traditional story that NORAD is on the lookout for Santa. They included pictures of fighter jets scrambling. (So far, kind of in line with past years). But then they had an interview with some brass from NORAD where the guy in camo was saying that they were in the air to intercept Santa so they could protect him from the Grinch and all the other bad guys. (I can just hear him adding terrorists and Al Kayh-dah). Now do you want your munchkins to loose sleep that Al Q is gonna hijack Santa????)
About a week ago they actually had a newscaster in a tirade about how a school was active in the war on Christmas. (I can only hope she really wondered how she got stuck with this story.) Played what appeared to be a Jr. High Assembly with choir singing Silent Night. Only instead of “round yon virgin, mother and child” they sand “Glory Streams from Heaven above. Heavenly hosts sing Alleluia” and CNN cut the video there – finding it on YouTube they ended sleep in heavenly peace x2).
Uh, does CNN not know that there are multiple verses to Silent Night????
You know, I read “Sadly, No”, and something they say there is “IT’S ALWAYS PROJECTION”. For a buncha conservatives, Freepers are really obsessed about the BUTTECKS, and the word ‘Anus’…
