I know, I know: the cover of Satch Plays Fats is rather rudimentary and nothing special. The album, however, is one of the best things Louis Armstrong ever recorded. I am also currently reading Terry Teachout’s splendid biography Popsso I got Louis on the brain. I pledge that I ain’t misbehavin’ and I’m keepin’ out of mischief now:
