At Lake Mary gun show, Zimmerman details what life is like
The Orlando Sentinel ^ | September 20, 2014 | Caitlin DineenPosted on 9/21/2014 2:58:37 PM by 2ndDivisionVet
ith a smile on his face, George Zimmerman spent Saturday afternoon posing for photos, sharing hugs and shaking hands with gun enthusiasts at a firearms expo in Lake Mary..
“It’s so odd to me,” said Zimmerman, about the celebrity treatment he receives in public. “[But] it is appreciated.”
In his first interview with the Orlando Sentinel, Zimmerman described life after his acquittal last year in the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin. The former Neighborhood Watch volunteer shot the unarmed black teen in Sanford on Feb. 26, 2012.
Now life for the 30-year-old is completely different.
He’s always moving.
He’s in debt.
And he’s constantly receiving death threats.
“I just try to be smart where I go,” said Zimmerman, who described the gun show at Gander Mountain Academy as a “friendly” event that didn’t warrant extra protection.
Zimmerman said he carries a semi-automatic handgun for added safety.
“It’s part of life,” said Zimmerman, whose Twitter feed is a constant barrage of death threats. “It’s unfortunately necessary right now.”(continued)

Stand-your-ground Georgie still has his supporters:
To: 2ndDivisionVetI wish I would have known about the gun show! I live right down the road and would have loved to meet George.

To: 2ndDivisionVetHe is not a CCW hero. He was a cowboy, a rent a cop wannabe who got a big head and a puffed up chest when he strapped on his gun. Was the shoot justified? Yes. But his conduct after his exoneration indicate that he is not just a meek and mild citizen who just happened to be jumped by a bad guy.

To: HiTech RedNeckI wonder how many Freepers under this kind of pressure (the orchestrated hate of half of black America) could keep their noses cleaner. I certainly could! Shall we start with Zimmerman’s previously scheduled boxing match with rapper DMX?Yea, that’s certainly an avenue to getting on with one’s life and maintaining a low profile, isn’t it?

To: 2ndDivisionVetsince no one, including you, will hire him for any job? What a strawman argument……..but I’ll go one better, WHY DON’T YOU OFFER HIM EMPLOYMENT? Since you appear to be his guardian angel and defender on this site, the very least YOU could do is hire him………..Well?
Didn’t we just DO Romney? Anywhoo, here’s Romney? For reals??
Romney 2016 is for real
Washington Examiner ^ | September 24, 2014 | Byron YorkPosted on 9/25/2014 8:58:45 AM by C19fan
Is Mitt Romney, who ran for the Republican presidential nomination and lost in 2008, ran again and won the nomination but lost the general election in 2012, really thinking about running yet again for president in 2016? Many Republicans have simply assumed not. Romney has seemed to discourage such talk in media appearances, and there has been a general belief that after losing as the party’s nominee, the 67 year-old Romney would return to private life for good.
That belief is wrong. Romney is talking with advisers, consulting with his family, keeping a close eye on the emerging ’16 Republican field, and carefully weighing the pluses and minuses of another run. That doesn’t mean he will decide to do it, but it does mean that Mitt 2016 is a real possibility.

Your daily dose of Romney might run in 2016 article.
To: C19fanGood. This will give me the chance to not vote for him in the primaries again.

To: mountainlionI believe last time around, Sarah bowed out because she had young kids, but also because she was contemplating a run against Romney and decided she might end up on the losing end of that contest, frandly because of GOP duplicity.
However I believe that has changed. Romney got the nomination last time around, AND HE LOST.
It is time for someone new. I believe it is time for Sarah Palin this time.

To: C19fanRomney really doesn’t want to run. He really doesn’t want to get another political butt-kicking. He fears the public. But, even more than he fears the public, he fears Ann and Ann is going to make him run again.Poor Willard. Ann and the gang concocted this “Mitt the Super-Manager” image that was a complete fiction. From top to bottom, Willard’s campaign organization was a study in incompetence. He got stomped. He got out-managed by a community organizer. Ann Romney will never give up. She is a public menace. If she makes Willard run again, he’ll just get stomped again. Is that really necessary?
To: SoConPubbieOh please. Many of us didn’t fall in line in 2012? Yes, that is very true. But we also couldn’t be vocal about it here.

Rick Perry Admirably Refuses To Shake Obama’s Hand At Airpor
t Daily Caller ^ Posted on 7/9/2014 10:00:02 AM by TigerClaws
Don’t call him Chris Christie.
Republican Texas Gov. Rick Perry refused to greet President Barack Obama at a tarmac photo-op this week, and instead challenged Obama to hold a “substantive meeting” with him to discuss the illegal immigration crisis currently engulfing states along the U.S.-Mexico border.
The White House requested that Perry meet Obama on the tarmac Wednesday as he gets off Air Force One on his way to Democratic fundraisers in Texas, which could have created another tableau like the “Chris Christie hug” during Superstorm Sandy, which helped Obama in the 2012 election. But Perry wasn’t having it.
******************************
Smart move by Perry.I’ll never support or vote for Christie for hugging Obama and giving him that photo op a few days before the general election.
To: TigerClawsNot since Harry Truman was kept waiting on the tarmac at Wake Island has a president received such a deserved rebuff.
Mac Arthur’s rebuff was deeply resented by Truman, deeply resented by historians like Arthur Schlesinger Jr. and might have contributed to Truman’s decision to fire MacArthur.
Imagine that. Go, Rick, GO!
Obama cannot fire Perry and Obama loses because he’s been diminished while he is vulnerable in the polls and Perry gains because he has elevated himself in the stature game over the president of the United States.
We the people gain because it illustrates how Obama has played the image game and avoided substance throughout his administration, just as he is doing now in Texas attending fundraisers, avoiding the border, and condescending to the people of Texas through is treatment of their Governor. Perry has learned from Obama’s treatment in similar circumstances of the Governor of Arizona and quite nicely turned the tables.
Bravo!

Glenn Beck: This is probably the hardest thing I have ever asked of you (For the children!)
Glenn Beck ^ | 6/23/14 | Glenn BeckPosted on 6/23/2014 8:08:51 PM by Viennacon
Glenn and TheBlaze have been covering the growing crisis at the southern border for a number of weeks now. With the situation further deteriorating, Glenn came before his audience on Monday morning with an interesting ask. In fact, Glenn described what he was about to say as “the hardest thing” he has ever asked for. But as he shared troubling new information about the humanitarian crisis at the border, Glenn asked his listeners to consider donating to Mercury One.
I’m not going to tell you who is giving me this information because things down at the border are extraordinarily difficult and not what you are being told it is. The Administration – and I believe this also includes the progressives Republicans – are trying to keep the lid on the media right now. And the churches are the ones who are pulling people’s feet out of the fire. Our state reps now have gone and toured the facilities that are happening in Laredo, Brownsville, Van Horn, McAllen, and all across the border. This one particular facility that I want to talk to you about holds 400 people but currently it has 1,200 kids in it. Some of them are toddlers. 1,200. 400 is what the max capacity is.
Let me ask you: How fast would the federal government or the state shut you down if you had anything that said maximum capacity 400, and you had 1,200 people if there? Three times the amount. Is anybody seeing a problem with this? The federal government is breaking their own laws and they are keeping this information from us.
I am told by people who have toured and work at this facility that when they open the doors to go in, the stench is so bad the politicians that were to go in gagged and backed out. One of the churches is planning on converting their entire church, the largest in the area, to become a holding facility because of how bad things are. Things are so desperate right now, hygiene and food are the number one problem. Clothes are further down the list. They need portable showers and Port-A-Johns. They have no way to wash their clothes. They need food and hygiene care right now. Many of them have not eaten in days. FEMA is supposed to be down there. They are not down there.
Today, I want to appeal to you. I want you to just think about this, please. The two citizenships that we hold. We will destroy our country if we only recognize the citizenship that we have in our country. If the Constitution of the United States of America is our god, then we are lost already. Our God is the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Our God demands certain things from us. He demands us to see each other. He demands that we help each other. He demands that we help the child. We help the suffering. We are the Good Samaritan.
There are some who are going to say, ‘I’m not going to help the people. They came across the border.’ Well, okay, but they’re here now. They’re on our border. Yes, some of them may be MS-13. That’s a different argument. We can sort out who’s who after we take care of people. That’s for the government to do. I’m not talking about we’re going to send them into our cities.
************
What is this crap? More proof of insanity? I bet these kids parents are laughing their heads off right now. We have to pay for THEIR kids, and in a few years, they get to come and leech of the taxpayer too!SEND THEM BACK TO GUATEMALA DAMN IT!American families are suffering in the Obamaconomy and now we have to support all the children of the third world? No. You want to get these kids the things they need, send them back to their countries, back to their parents. It may not be the Ritz, but it has toilets, it has food, that’s life. This entire thing is a ponzi scheme to bring in and breastfeed more potential rat voters, America bailing out the third world.I am sick of this!

I know who my King is, and I know what He would want me to do. Glen Beck is 100% correct.
I will put my money where my mouth is. I know my God, and I know what is right.
Think about it. Thanks to Soros’ $Billions spent in campaigning against the “failed” war in Iraq, today American son won’t be going to combat for Qatar, and our manchurian leader.
God is good always.
To: ViennaconOn the one hand, the government that we elected has done this.
On the other hand, the other hand the government that we elected has done this in order to preserve itself and destroy us.
I’m not going to help them.
If the people that they brought in here purposely to usurp my country die, then that’s too damn bad.
I do not feel for them.
I have had it with this crap.
