Today on Tommy T’s Obsession with the Freeperati – the terrible two edition

Morning, good people!

Well, I knew that Free Republic is very Trump-friendly, but it’s starting to look pretty one-sided.  The Freeperati have been running their own poll periodically to ask the members who they intend to vote for.

Latest poll results, please?

Cruz – 1347 votes

Trump – 2211 votes

Hmm – almost two to one.

So – how the hell did The Darnold lose Iowa?

Limbaugh: Trump Lost Iowa Because He Attacked Cruz ‘Like A Liberal Democrat

The Daily Caller ^ | February 2, 2016 | Christian Datoc

Posted on ‎2‎/‎2‎/‎2016‎ ‎1‎:‎18‎:‎23‎ ‎PM by Cincinatus’ Wife

Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh said Tuesday that Donald Trump lost the Iowa caucus because his criticism of Ted Cruz made him sound “like a liberal Democrat.”

“I don’t think Trump skipping the debate had a thing to do with what happened last night,” began Limbaugh. “This is a Republican primary. It’s Iowa. Conservatives win in Iowa.”

“Donald Trump, I don’t know if you forgot – one thing that everyone remembers – he went out and tried to criticize Ted Cruz,” explained the talk-show host.

“Ted Cruz isn’t the enemy,” he continued. “Hillary Clinton is the enemy. Ted Cruz is not a nasty guy. Ted Cruz is not a Canadian.”

“Nobody is going to believe that, especially when you offer that criticism sounding as though it could come with Bernie Sanders. In a Republican primary, you do not win if you’re going to sound like a liberal democrat criticizing Ted Cruz.”

Freepers?  Your thoughts?

I didn’t turn Rush on today but I hear that he’s pumping Cruz & Rubio and tearing down Trump.

I’m so done with Rush.

“I’m so done with Rush.”

If one is for Trump, is there a conservative talk show host or commentator who is left in good graces?

There are no more Goldwaters. No more Reagans. Gone.

There is something going on that’s unusual, more than the vicious fighting in here between Trump and Cruz supporters. We’ve been thinking in terms of liberal/leftist vs. conservative in this country for a long time now. What have conservatives done for us in the past 30 years? Anything? Some of us are sick and tired of pretending and things don’t stay the same. I’m older than dirt and don’t like change, but I can see the change and feel it in myself.

“Conservative” isn’t working; what will? Populist – Nationalist. It’s coming, and may be a better option for getting our freedoms back. I’ve known very well Trump isn’t a “real” conservative. I like what he “really” is, and it’s not what his detractors try to pin on him. Populism … Nationalism …. something new has to come. Even at my age I will embrace it if it saves this country for my 14 blood descendants. (Well, going on 14, any day now, from my youngest granddaughter.)

You want a new party? Quit fighting it and you might get one. I’ve quit.

Ted Cruz: I Will Absolutely Consider Putting Ground Troops On the Ground To Destroy ISISThe Right Scoop ^ | 12/9/2015 | Right Scoop Posted on ‎12‎/‎9‎/‎2015‎ ‎3‎:‎25‎:‎19‎ ‎PM by conservativejoy

Full Title:

Ted Cruz: I will absolutely consider putting troops on the ground if that’s what it takes to destroy ISIS

Ted Cruz said on Fox News today that as Commander-in-Chief he will do whatever is militarily necessary to destroy ISIS, and if that means putting troops on the ground to do it, then that’s what he’ll do. He said this in response to Fox News host Bill Hemmer’s saying that he had said he wouldn’t even consider putting troops on the ground.

In the second part of the interview, Hemmer basically begs Cruz to criticize Trump on anything, but Cruz refuses and explains why he won’t get into personal attacks with Trump or anyone else.

Oops – obviously his position has evolved since then.

um… no.

we dont need boots on the ground! we need daisy cutters falling from the air.

Kinda sounds familiar.
To: TexasFreeper2009

I have no such reservations. I would LEVEL any town I thought might be harboring an extensive ISIS presence and continue that over and over until the muslims were lining up in lines 100 miles long to surrender!

And then strafe the surrender line because you know they are lying.

Donald Trump Holds a Real Bald Eagle Named Uncle Sam in His Office for Photo Shoot
dailymail.co.uk ^ | 20 August 2015 | JOSH GARDNER
Posted on ‎8‎/‎21‎/‎2015‎ ‎6‎:‎27‎:‎20‎ ‎AM by HelicondeltaAnother day, another Donald Trump interview: only this time the country’s favorite Republican presidential hopeful was in the fitting company of an all-American bald eagle.

The Donald posed for a TIME photo shoot in his Manhattan office overlooking Central Park on Tuesday alongside a captive bird of prey named Uncle Sam.

And while the wild raptor proved difficult to keep in line, photographer Martin Schoeller admits Trump and his signature ‘blue steel’ gaze remained unchanged in every single frame.

OK – this is one of the most astounding examples of disconnect from, and alternate, realities I have ever seen, even over at Free Republic.

…shitting all down the front of his silk suit? I agree.
Now for the bubble syndrome thingy.

You see, all the other media IN THE FUCKING WORLD was showing what actually happened during that photo shoot, and it was hysterical.

Not a whisper.
Nothing.
Nada.
Zip.
What was everyone else in the whole world looking at and laughing at while the tunnel-visioned Freeperati were praising what a wonderful P.R. move this idea was?
 .

.

I checked Freeperstan again this morning, just to see if it ever filtered through to them.

(this thread was from October of last year)

Not a fucking thing. One thread.  32 replies.

And I’m not talking about left-wing sites showing it – I’m talking about FOX fucking news.

The Tonight show.

Business fucking insider.

ABC news.

NBC news.

Either they only get their news from Freeperville, or (more likely?) they saw the footage, swallowed their collective tongues, and all abruptly stopped posting on this thread.

This is pretty much a parable for the isolationism, insularity, and general impenetrability of the blinders they chose to install on themselves.

And they want to run the country?

I think not.

  1. (Marlin Perkins voice): “the magnificent raptor senses its natural prey: CARRION”

  2. I am shocked that their candidate preference poll registered more than 3,500 votes. I would have guessed that the tally would have had one one-hundredth that many.
