Today on Tommy T’s Obsession with the Freeperati – Seal Of Disapproval edition

Well, folks – pigs have flown, Hell has frozen over, and the twelfth of Never has come.

I agree with the Freeperati on something.

Unless you stopped breathing early last week or live in a cave you already know about this :

How did Trump end up in front of a presidential seal doctored to include a Russian symbol?

At first glance, there was nothing unusual about President Trump’s introduction Tuesday at Turning Point USA’s student summit. In many ways, it mirrored the production style that has become synonymous with Trump’s campaign rallies.

Following a 12-minute video illustrating Trump’s rise to the presidency, music blared as the president’s name flashed across a giant screen in a bold shade of red. Trump took the stage and soaked in the raucous cheers from hundreds of young supporters packed inside the Marriott Marquis in Washington.

Charlie Kirk, Turning Point’s outspoken founder and executive director, was on his left. But the image on the screen to Trump’s right — captured in dozens of photos and videos from the event — is less familiar.

The image almost resembles the official seal of the president; but a closer examination reveals alterations that seem to poke fun at the president’s golfing penchant and accusations that he has ties to Russia. Neither the White House nor Turning Point know how it got there or who created it.

Usually, the Freeperati react to this kind of thing (mockery) with threats to kill the mocker.
Right?

Someone went through some effort, can’t believe that it’s not easy to find out who as that’s the kind of thing that’s usually shared on social media.

The Russian double headed eagle and holding golf clubs in one talon. I assume that the president’s advance team has learned a lesson that should have been learned about 3 years ago – control all the digital displays while POTUS is in the room.

As far as pranks go, pretty harmless. Yuck it up and move on.

Have to admit – the golf clubs were pretty funny.

I really have to give props to whoever thought of that and pulled it off. Grudging admiration.

Kind of like the Chinese signs behind Nixon that Dick Tuck pulled off.

Worth stealing.

And we’d be laughing our butts off here if a similar thing had been done to a Democrat(sic) President.

One helpful suggestion :
To: I want the USA back
It was clearly deliberate. The people at Turning Point USA were infiltrated.

It seems people at TPUSA let their guard down and this creep had free reign and no oversight.

On a side note, I’d consider changing the name. While TP stands for Turning Point it’s also an abbreviation for toilet paper.

“As far as pranks go, pretty harmless.”

Not funny, disrespectful to the office of POTUS, the intention is to publicly humiliate POTUS

Like he needs any help…

and our country, and is indicative of frightening level of infiltration by hostile agents.

Yep – I remember the last time a President was assassinated by a prohibited jpeg.

So no, not harmless at all.

Man behind fake presidential seal is former Republican who opposes Trump
The Hill ^ | 07/25/19 | Justin Wise

The man who created the altered presidential seal that appeared behind President Trump briefly as he gave a speech earlier this week is a 46-year-old graphic designer who crafted the image after becoming disenchanted by Trump and the GOP.

“This is the most petty piece of art I have ever created,” Charles Leazott, a former Republican who voted for former President George W. Bush twice, told The Washington Post in an interview.

The Post noted that Leazott crafted the fake presidential seal following the 2016 presidential election. But the design grabbed widespread attention on Thursday after news outlets reported that Trump had appeared in front of Leazott’s interpretation while speaking at the conservative group Turning Point USA’s Teen Student Action Summit in Washington, D.C.

As Trump walked on the stage, a screen behind him displayed an altered presidential seal featuring a two-headed eagle — an image similar to that on the Russian Federation coat of arms — holding a set of golf clubs. A banner also read “45 es un titere,” Spanish for “45 is a puppet.”

The logo was interpreted widely as a knock at the president’s relationship with Moscow and his love of golfing at his namesake courses.

“I’m a graphic designer, it’s just something I tossed together,” Leazott said of the image. “This was just a goofy thing for some people I knew. I had no idea it would blow up like this.”

The Post first reported that Turning Point USA was looking into how the seal appeared while Trump was on stage. An unnamed source later told CNN that an audiovisual aide responsible for the seal had been dismissed.

A source familiar with the event emphasized to CNN that there was “zero malicious intent” behind the image. The source added that the mistake stemmed from a Google search mistake.

“One of our video team members did a Google Image search for a high-res png (file) presidential seal,” a source said, adding that the individual “did the search and with the pressure of the event, didn’t notice that it is a doctored seal.”

A White House spokesman told The Hill that officials had not seen the seal before it was displayed.

Turning Point USA did not immediately respond to a request for comment from The Hill.

The Post noted that the altered presidential seal first appeared on the internet on an online marketplace that Leazott launched to sell apparel and stickers that included the logo. The site also includes coffee mugs and shirts that mock the president.

Leazott told The Post that Trump appearing in front of the seal is now the background image on his computer. He addd that the person responsible for the incident is “either wildly incompetent or the best troll ever — either way, I love them.”

“I’ve got to be honest, I am so tickled in the most petty way possible that the president of the United States, who I despise, stood up and gave a talk in front of this graphic,” he said. “Whoever put that up is my absolute hero.”

How does he account for the row of hammer & sickle images across the top of the shield in front of the two-headed eagle?

You’re joking, right?

To my mind, he’s an evil little bastard who needs to be taught a lesson in some way that will give him pause before he does crap like that again.

Will there be any consequences? Seriously doubt it.

Consequences for what? He made a humorous alteration to a picture. Someone else posted it behind the President at an event (apparently “by mistake”). What consequences would you like for someone who makes humorous jabs at politicians? How many FReepers do you want to see in jail?
