I’ve had it.

I’ve had it with arguments over “defund the police” “no, that’s a bad slogan” “no it’s not.”

THE GOP IS FIGHTING OVER HOW MANY MORE WATER CANNONS AND “RUBBER” BULLETS TO SHOOT AT PROTESTERS.

I’ve had it with white liberals clowning on Nancy Pelosi for wearing kente cloth. The Congressional Black Caucus gave it to everyone, it’s not like Nance went to JoAnn Fabrics and decided to make herself a costume.

Should she have refused to wear it on the basis of Red Rose Twitter being primed for dunks? Where does THAT end? there anything we’re NOT primed for dunks on?

THE GOP IS DRAPING ITSELF IN THE STARS AND BARS, IN CASE YOU DIDN’T NOTICE.

Then read every third comment under it calling Joey a child molester or suggesting his mask doesn’t fit right or saying it’s useless for him to show up or arguing he has dementia.

FOR GOD’S SAKE TRUMP IS RETWEETING THAT THE ONLY GOOD DEMOCRAT IS A DEAD ONE, HE’S SUGGESTING A 75-YEAR-OLD SCHOOLTEACHER IS SOME KIND OF ANTIFA SUPERSOLDIER. HE CANNOT GO TEN SECONDS WITHOUT MAKING THIS WORSE.

Joey B. Biden is gonna be our next president or we’re all gonna die. Nancy Pelosi is gonna stay Speaker of the House and we are going to get a Democratic Senate Majority Leader who will also probably not satisfy anyone. Or we are all gonna die, all of us, either of this plague or whatever Trump decides to fuck up next. That’s all there is to this. And yet we seem to feel compelled at every turn to show how not-in-the-tank we are by making it loud and clear that Democrats, Also, Are Bad.

I want Democrats to be good at the things they say they want to do. And I think they can take us giving them ideas and urging them to fight and rewarding them when they do. But I’m done listening to carping every time Nancy claps back at Donald, I’m done mocking every single symbolic action as awkward and wrong. Jesus, is that really what we’re mad at? Is that really what we want to, and pardon me for saying this, police right now?

You know what? GO BE AWKWARD AND LOOK DUMB, JOEY. WEAR A MASK THAT MAY LOOK SILLY WHILE YOU MEET WITH THE FAMILIES OF THE DEAD. Do some normal politician type gaffes and kick a couple of reporters who bug you off your plane so that everybody can have something normal to be mad about. I swear we should elect him just to give people who need a tan-suit scandal can have one, they NEED it so badly.

The GOP’s brightest lights are running op-eds that are like “what if we did war crimes to Americans because they piss us off,” can we please keep our eyes on the ball here?

  1. My short response to complaints about “defund the police” is, “Got your attention saying that, did it?” Good. Now that you’re engaged in the conversation at long last, let’s talk about what needs to change. You don’t want to defund the police. What changes are you okay with? Because “none” isn’t a solution.

  2. Yeah, we need to stick together and keep our “eyes on the prize:”
    A Democratic POTUS, and both the House and Senate!
    There is no reward for failure, but death.

    And when it comes to “Both sidesing” any and every issue, our MSM “Jes’ kent hep itself!”

  3. There are two sides here, when a not-zero part of one side thinks there are three.
    We are in an existential crisis. Not the kind that hookers, a Tesla and blow will get us out of.
    There is one side – the side of the angels. We believe in 1) democracy, 2) human rights and 3) that society is a thing.
    1) Democracy. Simply put – that we are all equal, and have the right to be an equal part of the decision-making process. That’s it. No shoulds, no ifs or conditions. That’s it.
    2) Human Rights – that our rights, all of our rights – to our lives, to our futures and to our right to participate in our lives – do not stem from a piece of paper, but exist within us based on our existence alone. And violations of those rights are violations of both the principle of democracy and our social contract – point 3.
    3) Society exists based on the social contract which is a promise to share the goods and the burdens alike. The social contract tells us – very clearly – what we can expect and what is expected from us. ‘Work hard, play by the rules, your kids will have a better life than you.’ Breaking that contract is fundamentally anti-democratic and often a violation of our human rights.

    Joe Biden is the torch-bearer for our side. That’s it. He’s what we have. Joe and Bernie and Liz and AOC and the ghost of Paul Wellstone and Hillary and all our three-initial-men . . . MLK, JFK, RFK, LBJ, FDR and countless others whom we love and cherish because we are on their side because they are on our side. Flawed, problematic and disappointing sons of bitches – every single one. But they are ours. Our world is better off because of them. And in November, it’s gotta be Joe. And Nancy And Chuck. The trifecta. As you said. And that will be enough. I hope. For the next round that starts Jan. 2021.

    The other side is the other side. They are easy to spot. You are related to some, live next door to others and share cube-space with many. They are every-fucking-where on the net. They lie to us about what #1 means and how, in this case, it does not apply. They talk about Republics and majorities and Lawn Order and winge about Founders and Constitutions and Clauses and Federalist Papers. #2, they see a clause in a 2nd Amendment that they do not understand as a ‘right’ but only for them. Arm a black man and they don’t really mean that that is his right at all. Those other Universal Declaration rights are hippy nonsense – education for girls, right to healthcare or a job or clean environment? That’s some Antifa bullshit right there. (true, they were Antifa before it went mainstream) And Society, #3? they have been telling us to fuck that noise since Reagan promised ‘responsibility’ for us, and ‘benefits’ for them. They want to return is to feudalism. That is their ideal.

    The “third side” believes all of this but says they could be convinced to join the angels – if we do this one thing. They are fucking lying. Because they are on the other side.
    ‘Don’t talk about ‘defund the police.’ ‘Don’t be so angry’ Don’t swear – this is a family program.’ Now, if Bernie would talk less about revolution . . . or Liz didn’t spend so much time with bankers . . . or Hillary had been less, well, of a patient, smart as hell woman, If Nancy were more ‘authentic.’ Or, my favorite – I don’t agree – from my living room. I am silently protesting by refusing to participate. That will fucking show them.

    Funny thing about the side of the angels – no negotiation is necessary. It’s really simple to join us. ‘Get off the couch, don’t be an asshole, do something.’ When this seems like it is too much work, . . .
