Pulp Fiction Thursday: Odd Man Out

It’s St. Patrick’s Day. I’ll dispense with the snakes, leprechauns, and liquor with this week’s entry.

Odd Man Out is the story of a wounded IRA man on the run. It was first a book by FL Green then a great movie directed by Carol Reed. It was the role that made a star of the mellifluously-voiced, James Mason.

If you’ve never seen the movie, check it out. It’s a 4 star classic:

  1. I just watched this last week! Enjoyed it, and since you mention James Mason’s voice, I would recommend his work in this movie to any non-Irish actor seeking to affect an Irish brogue. Mason’s accent is whisper thin and works great.
