Album Cover Art Wednesday: New Orleans Nights

It’s Carnival so I have New Orleans music on my mind. Even though Louis Armstrong lived much of his life in Queens and on the road; at heart he was a New Orleanian who lived elsewhere because of segregation and racism.

The cover art is by Joyce Behr. It comes from the 1963 UK release of this record, which first hit record shops in 1950.

Here’s a song about New Orleans funerals that segues in to Didn’t He Ramble.
