How Much Is That Doggie In The Window?

Last time on The Justice Files, I covered his vetoing funding for a cutting edge medical research center.

This time I’m going to list the recent lawsuits brought against him and his companies as he campaigns for the West Virginia GOP Senate nominee. It is astounding to me that he faces so much pending litigation and he’s still considered the frontrunner here in Dollar Store Gilead.

I touched upon the money Justice and his family owe to Carter Bank & Trust in an earlier post, and focused on the helicopter that his numerous creditors had laid claim to. In March, a judge ruled that Justice had to pay back the loan, totaling $302 million, which he and some of his family members had personally guaranteed.

Carter Bank then moved ahead and set a date to start auctioning off properties related to the Greenbriar Sporting Club, a super-expensive housing development that is part of the Greenbriar Resort, which is owned by Justice, and the Greenbriar Sporting Club immediately counter-sued and so the sale is on hold while the litigation goes on.

This wouldn’t be the first time Justice has had to sell properties; in 2023 he had to sell properties to pay $160,000 in unpaid taxes.

Unpaid taxes and fines are another area where Justice’s businesses are bleeding money and in February 2024 the WV Tax Department filed liens totaling $3.5 million for unpaid sales taxes at the Greenbriar.

There are also non-Carter Bank lawsuits, like the one filed in February 2024, where 1st Source Bank sued Bluestone, a Justice-owned company, for $4.5 million in damages for an unpaid loan. Are you sensing a pattern here?

And it’s not just private companies and the state of WV suing Justice, either.  In May 2023, the Department of Justice sued a Justice family coal company over $5 million in unpaid fines.

And these are mostly lawsuits from only the last 6 or so months. Who the hell is supporting this pathetic grifter? How can someone who repeatedly refuses to pay his taxes and his bills be considered a legitimate candidate? He presents himself as a billionaire (as if) and a successful business man and that’s obviously not the case.

None of this may affect his campaign, but his legal woes are definitely going to affect his performance in the Senate, too. West Virginians deserve better, but won’t vote for it. We are so screwed.

This seems like time to close with this:
