Mick Jagger Mocks The Clownfish

The Rolling Stones played Jazz Fest yesterday. Even before my illness, I wasn’t willing to pay $225 smackers to see them. I had, however, planned to watch them from a top secret location nearby. Losing half my blood on Mardi Gras day changed those plans.

It’s okay. I’ve seen the Stones six times. In 1989, Dr A and I shelled out $40 to see them at the Superdome. I’m old, so I saw them in 1972 at Winterland in San Francisco. The opening act was Stevie Wonder. The ticket price was $6.50. I am not making this up. That’s $48 in 2024 money. Not a bad deal.

Anyway, Mick Jagger mocked The Clownfish at the Fairgrounds yesterday:

“We’re a welcoming crowd aren’t we?” Jagger asked. “I hope Mr. Landry is enjoying the show. He’s real inclusive you know. He’s trying to take us back to the Stone Age.”

The Clownfish was in attendance. He replied by Tweet:

That was surprisingly mild for The Clownfish who is a notorious troll. A sign that he knows that Jagger’s favorable ratings are higher than his.

I have news for you Jeffy-boy: The Stones *have* written and recorded country music. It’s a pity they didn’t play Dead Flowers. It’s set on Kentucky Derby day, which is tomorrow. I’ve watched the race several times while attending Jazz Fest. For the uninitiated, Jazz Fest is held at a race track, which was purchased by Churchill Downs in 2004.

Thanks to Mick’s mockery, I realized that I needed a Clownfish category. I have categories for his predecessors in Gret Stet political malakatude, PBJ and David Vitter, after all. It’s Jeff Landry’s turn in the barrel.

The last word goes to The Rolling Stones:

  1. I second what Judy said. Ah, the good ole days when $3 would get you into the Fillmore West to see 3 groups!
