It’s the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landing. I’m not irked about that, quite the contrary. I’m in awe of the brave soldiers who took back Normandy: Vive le France; God Bless America; God Save The King.
My recovery from my extended illness has slowed, so I’m ready to spray some venom. Does that make me an unrattled rattlesnake? Discuss amongst yourselves.
It’s time for some vexatious venting about irksome things.
I’m irked that freshly indicted Kenneth Chesebro has yet to cop a plea in his home state of Wisconsin. I’m hoping the Cheese will rat out some higher ups on Team Trump. Come on down, John Eastman and Rudy Giuliani.
In the unlikely event Chesebro goes to trial I’ll call it The Cheesehead State v. The Cheese. Is that a gouda name or a brick of a joke? Let’s ask Commander Cody:
I’m irked that Marge Taylor-Greene had the nerve to go off on Dr. Anthony Fauci at a recent Congressional hearing:
“Do the American people deserve to be abused like that, Mr. Fauci, because you’re not Dr. Fauci in my few minutes.
You know what this committee should be doing? We should be recommending you to be prosecuted. We should be writing a criminal referral. We should be writing a criminal referral because you should be prosecuted for crimes against humanity. You belong in prison, Dr. Fauci…because that man does not deserve to have a license. As a matter of fact it should be revoked, and he belongs in jail. He’s not respected. I will not call him Dr.”
This face off pits a pissant against a giant. Dr. Fauci is a short Italian guy from Brooklyn, but he’s a giant in the world of medicine. He did more for the country in one day than Marge Greene has in her entire benighted life. She should keep Tony Fauci’s name out of her dirty mouth and stick to talking smack about Lauren Boebert.
Does Marge want to jail Fauci, so he can save lives in prison? Holy rhetorical question, Batman.
Those are my Greene thoughts. Here’s The Smithereens’ Green Thoughts:
I’m irked that the Convicted Insult Comedian is claiming that he never said “lock her up” during the 2016 campaign. Need I tell you that’s a most irksome lie?
The Atlantic’s David Graham is calling it Trump’s Most Audacious Lie. I call it just another day in the life of a man who lies so often that he can’t keep them straight. Let’s change the locks, then the subject.
I’m irked that the Wall Street Journal published another piece dogging Joe Biden about his age. The timing is questionable: right after Trump’s conviction on 34 felony counts. Even more suspect are two of the sources: former Speaker KMac and his successor MAGA Mike Johnson. Why should anyone believe a man who has this MAGA flag outside his office?

The Louisiana flag is keeping bad company. Poor mama pelican…
MAGA Mike should trade flag stories with his fellow Trumper, Sam the Sham Alito. Sam is getting up there in age too. Is he ready to sing a rousing chorus of this Little Feat classic?
I’m irked that people continue to worship polls after they’ve been wrong so many times. The latest example is India where the Hindu nationalist party of Prime Minister Modi did NOT win in the landslide predicted by the polls. I hate writing about polls, so that’s all I have to say about the latest polling fail.
Finally, Florida Congressman Byron Donalds is desperate to be the Kaiser of Chaos’ running mate. How desperate is he? So desperate that he said some crazy shit to suck up to his racist leader:
Mr. Donalds said that the programs that followed the Jim Crow era of racial violence and segregation — the federal government’s welfare system during the 1950s and the civil rights agenda of President Lyndon B. Johnson in the 1960s — had a detrimental effect on Black families.
“You see, during Jim Crow, the Black family was together,” Mr. Donalds said. “During Jim Crow, more Black people were not just conservative — because Black people have always been conservative-minded — but more Black people voted conservatively.”
What’s the opposite of a race man in 2024? A Black Republican willing to demean himself to play second fiddle to a convicted felon. The malakatude, it burns.
Repeat after me: Vote against the crook, it’s important.
The last word goes to Odetta:
