I still hate the Epstein story, but I hate Team Trump even more. Their maladroit handling of the Epstein scandal obliges me to write about this shit. The Kaiser of Chaos likes to brag about his very big brain, so he should know  the first role of holes: When you’re in one, stop digging. Instead, his inability to STFU has resulted in a chasm beneath his swollen feet. In a word: Ugh.

Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche is taking performative MAGA lawyering to new depths of depravity:

Where do I begin? Blanche is presenting his abject sycophancy to the Insult Comedian as an act of courage. He’s obviously learned the art of projection from his boss and client. That’s right, I said client: Blanche is still acting as Trump’s defense lawyer. The client likes to put on a show for his fan base. Blanche is obliging him by meeting with a convicted sex trafficker and notorious liar. Maxwell has shit-birdery in her genes: Her publisher father Robert was under investigation for fraud when he died mysteriously aboard a yacht named for his daughter. There’s always a yacht with these fucking people.

If it’s true that no one at DOJ ever spoke to Madam Maxwell, it was her choice. She lawyered up immediately and, unlike, Donald Trump knows when to zip her lip.

The purpose of Blanche’s mission is unclear but suborning perjury is one possibility. That’s a fancy way of saying that Blanche will dangle offers of clemency and commutation in front of Maxwell to get her to clear Trump. If she bites, that would make her the ultimate jailhouse snitch. Her lawyers are apt to ask for a pardon, which is politically impossible at this moment. The Bonfire Of The MAGA Vanities will continue to rage even if Maxwell lies for Trump.

Todd Blanche is a disgrace to the legal profession. Shyster is the worst thing you can call an attorney, but it seems inadequate to convey the depth of Blanche’s corruption. He sold his soul to the Insult Comedian in exchange for power. Holy Faustian bargain, Batman.

In his first term, Trump asked “Where’s my Roy Cohn?”

In his second term, he has a boatload of Roy Cohns.

The Justice Department has been transformed into President Pennywise’s personal law firm, something even Richard Nixon would have been reluctant to do. That makes Trump worse than Nixon and Blanche as bad as Roy Cohn. It’s impossible to be worse than that McCarthyite Rosenberg prosecutor. Blanche is evil but he’s not that evil. Yet.

Like Roy Cohn, Todd Blanche is a shyster. Cohn was disbarred, something that Todd Blanche has to look forward to. It’s what happens to shysters.
