Emil Bove Is A Perjurer

The Insult Comedian’s defense attorneys have been busy this month. Emil Bove tried the porn star hush money case with his fellow shyster Todd Blanche. Blanche has been hanging out with convicted sex trafficker and perjurer Ghislaine Maxwell. While Blanche was playing liar’s poker with a monster, Emil Bove repeatedly committed perjury in his confirmation hearings to sit on the Third Circuit Court of Appeals. Thus far, it hasn’t mattered: the Senate Judiciary Committee voted to move on the nomination despite serious allegations of misconduct by Bove.

Repeat after me: Emil Bove is a perjurer.

Whistleblowers have been coming out of the woodwork to refute Bove’s lies. A third one popped up yesterday:

This latest whistleblower follows two others who accused Bove of telling Justice Department attorneys to ignore court orders blocking Trump’s deportations. Specifically, former DOJ attorney Erez Reuveni said that Bove had told department lawyers to say “fuck you” to judges blocking Trump’s scheme to render Venezuelan detainees to an El Salvador prison. Bove claimed in his confirmation hearing he did not recall saying this.

“We have substantial information relevant to the truthfulness of the nominee,” Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) said in a floor speech yesterday. But Senate Republicans have shown no interest in even finding out what the new whistleblower has to say.”

Bove is not the first GOP judicial nominee to perjure themselves during a confirmation hearing. It’s been going on for years, at least since Sam the Sham Alito and John Roberts claimed they respected precedent including Roe v. Wade. Subsequent GOP judicial nominees repeated that lie and others aimed at securing confirmation. All the Trump SCOTUS nominees told some whoppers, the biggest prevaricator being Justice Bro DBA Brett Kavanaugh who lied early and often about his past, present, and future. He was, however, truthful about liking beer. Burp.

In a sane world, telling subordinates to ignore court orders would be disqualifying, but Chuck Grassley’s spokesperson Clare Slattery begs to differ:

“These eleventh-hour allegations, which were shared in advance with Democrats and the media but not with the Chairman or his staff, reek of a bad faith attempt to sink a nominee who’s already received committee approval,” Slattery said in a statement.

Before MAGA madness took hold in his party, the Iowa Senator was an advocate for whistleblowers. That changed when the Kaiser of Chaos made mendacity mandatory for his minions.

Will any of the whistleblower statements matter? Probably not. Judicial nominees perjuring themselves is the GOP way. Trump badly wants Emil Bove’s nomination to go through. It is widely suspected that Bove will be Trump’s fourth Supreme Court appointment after some fat cat pays Thomas or Alito to retire. The corruption, it burns.

The featured image is a newspaper ad for the 1921 film, Perjury. Emil Bove reminds me of a silent movie villain. It’s easy to picture him tying a damsel in distress to train tracks. In 2025, the damsel in distress is America.

Emil Bove is a perjurer, but perjury doesn’t matter. Whatever Trump wants, Trump gets much like Lola in Damn Yankees.

The last word goes to Sarah Vaughan:

UPDATE: Emil Bove was confirmed by a 50-49 vote of the Senate. His perjury didn’t matter.
