MAGA has tried taking ownership of this week’s tune. Team Trump insists on playing it at rallies despite disapproval from the Petty estate and producer/co-writer Jeff Lynne. It landed at #3 on my Cease & Desist Top Ten List of songs artists don’t want associated with the Insult Comedian. It’s time to take this song back from the MAGA maggots.

I Won’t Back Down was written in 1989 by Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne for TP’s Full Moon Fever album.  This is the second consecutive week that I’ve highlighted a Jeff Lynne song. This time, he’s even wearing his trademark shades in the featured image.
